well my understanding is that sony and microsoft (maybe nintend) are thinking about just sticking with the current consoles longer than usual because they still have untapped potential. my undestanding is final fantasy 13 is the only game to utilize almost all of the ps3's power, so i can see sticking with them for longer than the normal life cycle.

Yeah I really don't see a new system coming out until like 5 years. The PS3 updates itself and like Metal said, all these systems(except Nintendo maybe?) having really tapped into there full potential. If any of these companies are smart they will sit on this product and learn from it, utilize that info and make an extraordinary system to follow these.
