Do you guys buy digital movies and shows? This is something that I was thinking about recently because of holiday sales and I realized that the number of people who do might be going down.

Over the last year streaming has been as big as ever so there hasn't been as big of a need to buy movies. And for those people who want to own their stuff, the rise of things like 4K and 3D Blu Ray made people buy discs more.

I for one love buying digital stuff when there's a good deal. Yesterday I bought the complete set of all 9 The Office seasons and all 8 House seasons and only paid $30 each, which I thought was awesome.

What about you? What do you think of paying for digital movies and shows?

I have no issue with digital downloads of things. That's how I own most of the games I've bought over the last decade and I don't think I own a physical copy of any movies anymore (I owned DVD's but ever upgraded beyond that with physical copies).

I personally will never buy physical copies again. It's too much space and worry to do it. I'd rather stream movies or go see them in theaters and any TV shows I'm going to watch are also likely to be streamed only and not watched live.

Honestly, I don't care too much about seeing things "first" or anything like that. I'll get around to it when I get around to it.

I'm starting to prefer watching entire shows all together once they are done instead of trying to keep up with a bunch of shows happening at the same time one week at a time.

geeogree : The only thing that I personally don't like about digital movies is the fact that you aren't actually "owning" them.

I used to buy a lot of Instawatch movies from Walmart, I think they gave you a code for the movie on the receipt in addition to one in the case. But I think people would sell or redeem those and then return the actual movie. So Walmart got smart and all the ones that were redeemed were removed from everyone's accounts, even if they paid for it.

I lost about 30 movies from my Vudu account earlier this year because of that.
