World Juniors of Hockey starts for real today and I can't wait. I feel like sports in 2020 weren't for real and now that 2021 has started that things are more legitimate.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to having some fun games to watch. Canada has been pretty dominant so far and I'm not really sure which team has the firepower to take them on this year. And they only gave up 1 goal per game on average so far. Tough to beat that.

However, it does look like the US team has played similarly (not quite as many goals scored and only 1 more goal allowed) so there might be a finals match-up there.


Germany feels like the wild card team this year. Their top line can do damage if they aren't contained so I'm hopeful to see them move past the quarterfinals.

I'll likely update with results at the end of today for anyone who cares. It's mostly just fun to write about something like this

Russia beat Germany 2-1

Finland beat Sweden in a come from behind 3-2 victory. That was a fun game to watch.

Canada beat the Czech Republic 3-0 in an honestly boring game.

Currently the US is up 3-2 against Slovakia in a much more exciting game.

Yup, it will be Canada vs USA for gold and Russia vs Finland for the bronze.

I'm looking forward to the Canada US game because my wife is American so it will be fun to watch it with her a gloat when she loses Not that she actually cares about hockey but it will still be entertaining.
