What's one game that you really wanted to complete but just never got around to it, or it was too hard for you?

I really wanted to beat Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, but it ended up being too ridiculously hard for me to beat the normal way. So I used "restore points" on my Wii U (Nintendo's version of savestates). Then I beat the game, the little cheater I am And I found out that I needed to beat the game 7 more times to unlock worlds A-D. You should've seen the look on my face. I thought that was the stupidest thing ever and decided to move on to a game I'd enjoy more even if I had to beat it 8 times.

I still haven't beaten Cuphead. Although it's not fully platforming, that's probably the one genre I'm just all-around awful at and so I just don't have the mental fortitude to go and finish it lol. I think I'm around that cake boss? I remember beating it and was like "damn, that took forever, I'll turn it off for now" and just never went back lol

I tried getting through Fire Emblem 6, but around stage 18 I just got so sick of it. I was attempting to do a true ending run on the first try, and some of those bonus maps are beyond ridiculous. I'll go back to this game someday, but I'm not looking forward to it.

pennylessz : The problem with taking a break from games is that it can be so hard to get back up to speed when you resume them. A lot of the times I took breaks from games, I felt that I needed to start over to really be ready for the tougher parts of the games.

Pacman+Mariofan : 5 games i couldn't beat, final fantasy 13 you play saza the guy with yellow bird in his hair and vanilla a tough boss fight, i keep on dying at and lighting and hope 2nd summoning fight was very tough i kept dying on too.
final fantasy 7 3rd disc 3 near the end of 3 part boss fight.
yugioh had 1 game i couldn't beat the one toon guy turned evil.

5th and final one is re 5 for xbox 360, part i was leon i guess and was in 1 room to kill all and try not dead against ax man. with low of bullets wasn't good way or having enough healing cans either.

I mean, Wario Stadium in Mario Kart 64 is quite different than most race tracks in that game... Everything involving Wario is different. And harder to beat.

For me, Ninja Gaiden 3 on NES. Atleast without save states. 1 and 2 are hard, but doable. 3 however, is almost physically painful to get through, especially with the increased damage and limited continues made in the NES version specifically. I don't know any sane person who'd say "You know what? Make these infamously hard games even harder, why not."

For me it's hard to really pinpoint a specific game as i'm a casual trophy hunter. Currently i'm less trying to beat the games i own and more get their trophy completion rate to 50%, After that i'll have a much better idea of what games i really can't complete, either game or trophy wise.

At this current moment in time i'd say the most likely candidate is probably bloodborne/ nioh/ code vein/ dark souls, Just solely based on how little of that genre i've actually played.

Even games i know i won't 100% i've got to the end of rather easily. I've just never invested time into those games even though i own them.

Minecraft dungeons might be one as well, solely because i don't like diablo type games.. and well i promised a friend i'd play it with them lol.. welp

Golden Sun Dark Dawn, as a kid I could always make it to the final boss, but at that point it's like hitting a brick wall as it does multi hit attacks that do high damage. I would imagine it's cause I never really used djinn in the game, or many party members, so It basically murdered my party every encounter.
