I think the best way to deal with it is not to do what a lot of people are doing, that is constantly be reading about it in their free time and following media reports religiously. News sites have reason to sensationalize every new development with eye-catching headlines often making things seem worse than they are. That's what keeps readers hooked. This gets people riled up and they become fearful sometimes to a ridiculous degree when they don't really need to be. It's unfortunate but it's the reality of the situation.

It can be good for people who are feeling especially stressed since it does lead to a lot of psychological benefits. There are other ways to take your mind of things though, like occupying yourself with games or some other hobby so it depends on each situation.

Zlinqx : I have felt significantly better after not paying as much attention to the news that's constantly trying to get my attention. I've paid attention when it's important, but I'm relieved. I agree with what you said about self-control! It's been great to try to have some consistency in my life, including with my sleep, exercise, diet, and hobbies.

Zlinqx : Yeah I know how that guilt feels when it comes to my schedule. It was the hardest to deal with at first when I wasn't hanging out with my friends anymore, and I wasn't working either. But since I've stayed connected with a lot of people on my phone, I've since felt better about that.

I mean there's far worse stuff happening in the world just not on this particular scale.

Honestly it's not really been an issue for me. I don't go outside anyways. I don't have any "at risk" family members to worry about either as to put it simply. My family is full of douches,Besides the ones i'm staying with at the moment.

It's a sad truth but ignorance is bliss. Also taking basic preventative measures and giving a damn about other people helps as well.

There's too many people that misunderstand that isolation is to prevent the number of cases, therefore reducing the number of high risk people that get it. They just only care about themselves.

I've dealt a lot with these sort of people in life.. Like a few have messed around and not believed the seriousness of my epilepsy until i have a seizure in front of them and it freaks them out.. and then they never speak to me again... lol
