I'm now finished recovering data that was lost from the accidental database drop that took place at the beginning of this month. Not all of the data was recoverable but a lot of it was. All site features should be functioning properly again. If you had content that wasn't recovered or if you're missing Viz, let me know in this thread.

For those wondering, here's the specifics of what happened. On March 2nd, I was executing an SQL query on the database and somehow there was a typo in the query which resulted into the entire database being dropped (I was also working on the site with only 3 hours of sleep, which is a very very bad idea). I had a backup from November 7th, 2019, but that still meant months worth of data gone. Fortunately I made my new log system (which happened to go live in mid November) very detailed and advanced, so I was able to use it to recover a lot of the data (and I thankfully have it storing data in a different database so it was unaffected by the db drop). It still took me many many hours to write scripts and manually restore the missing data but I prioritized doing so and invested far more hours than what is considered healthy (there were many days which I spent 14-17 hours straight with basically no distractions).

So why didn't I have a more up to date backup? Well the site's database is massive, like 10 GB (30 GB including logs) so it means the site has to be down briefly in order to pull that off. I will be making it a habit of backing up the database from now on though, even if that means the site being down for an hour once a week.

Davideo7 : I applaud all your work. It appears that I lost about 9,000 Viz, though.

Took an immense amount of time and effort, but Vizzed is finally back in the shape it should be. We can't thank you enough to dedicate so much time to the site in the hard times we're facing in real life everywhere in the world.

A bit of a shame that some things couldn't be recovered at all, like the CP we earned for months, but it's a derisory loss compared to what we've been able to recover. We'll be able to recover on our own, so time to be twice as active to make up for the lost ground.

I hope you can now take a break and enjoy your time with your family, you've more than deserved it.

Good to see that everything is working again. I was a bit sad when most of my bio seemed to be deleted but then it reappeared yesterday. Thanks for the effort that you put into bringing everything back.

Davideo7 : i think the image thing isn't working every time i tried to put an image on the edit profile and settings no other image appears on the user picture.
