GTA 6 is really an inevitability. The colossal ongoing success of GTA 5 is essentially a guarantee that we'll see the franchise return - especially since is developer Rockstar's biggest IP. According to Steven Ogg - aka Trevor from GTA 5 - the highly anticipated sequel is coming "soon", explaining that Rockstar's "games take 7-8 years to make, do the math."

And sure, this might not be an outright confirmation of GTA 6's existence, but you've got to admit it does add to the excitement of it all. Still, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been keeping Rockstar busy, and with Red Dead online continually being updated, that won't change anytime soon. All things considered, you might in for a bit of a wait for the next round of action in the world of GTA. In fact, with the launch of next generation consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X set for the tail end of 2020, we may well see GTA 6 take full advantage of the next-gen tech.

Rockstar, in typical fashion, remains tight-lipped about what we can expect from the highly-anticipated RPG, but there are a few rumours circulating around on the internet as well as some particularly enthusiastic theories from the GamesRadar team. It's definitely going to be quite a long time before we hear anything about GTA 6 officially, so to sate your appetites in the meantime below you'll find everything we know about GTA 6, from how many playable characters it might have to potential locations, thanks to an alleged flood of information from a recent GTA 6 Project Americas leak.

Considering how my nephew is basically addicted to playing GTA 5 I almost don't wanna even imagine what he will be like when GTA 6 drops. XD

When will GTA 6 be announced? Now that most of us have traipsed through the gorgeous world of Red Dead Redemption 2 on console or PC and gamers are looking ahead to the next open-world Rockstar game set in the Grand Theft Auto universe: GTA 6.

It's been a whole six years since GTA 5 launched on consoles and PC, meaning an announcement could be imminent, and the latest news and rumors suggest that GTA 6 could be on its way soon.

The short answer is: no one knows. Despite all kinds of rumours (which you can read about below), there have been no official details about GTA 6 from the team at Rockstar Games – but that doesn't mean it might not drop at any minute.

Although 2020 is still in its early days, a release this year doesn't seem likely without any kind of development announcement. But with the new generation of consoles coming at the tail end of the year hopes are increasing that we might hear something from Rockstar at some point.

Details may be thin on the ground, but that doesn't stop us gathering together the best pieces of gossip, rumor and fact for your personal pleasure.

One thing that I'm hoping for is for the map to be much bigger. I know the map for GTA V was already incredibly big but Rockstar made the biggest map ever in RDR2 and it would be really cool to have a huge assortment of places to travel, especially different islands like there werw in the previous games.

Other than that I think the game will start off with a lot more into the story mode and multiplayer campaigns. I think a lot of what GTA V Online was will just be introduced right at the start rather than DLC's.

Although I haven't really played 5 much in the past, I hope that there are some new features and probably a deeper story line with some more unique and interesting missions to do.

Rockstar is one of my favorite big gaming companies. Granted they do have their flaws, but I've been a fan since I found out what Grand Theft Auto was, and how open the game can be with GTA and GTA 2, then of course the series went 3D and blew up from there. Obviously they can be controversial, which I also enjoy a lot. They definitely push the envelope. Then they had the Manhunt series, as well as the Red Dead series, and both are so amazing. Not only that the did The Warriors, which might be the best movie video game I ever played.

As for GTA 6, I can't wait to see what happens, but with GTA Online still being very popular, and the modding for offline on GTA V with streamers playing the game left and right, I don't see it for at least another year. I hope I am wrong. Not only that, the news of Dan Houser leaving Rockstar might effect things a bit.

What do I want for GTA 6? I wouldn't mind 3 characters again, but at the same time, I wouldn't mind them going back and revisiting Vice City, not just a section, kinda like they did with San Andreas in GTA V, but the whole map, and make it bigger then ever. If it's a new character, or something in the GTA lore connected to Tommy Vercetti, or even Tommy himself, that would be interesting to see.

I know a lot of users has made a ton of rumors of GTA VI (6) being set in Vice City, which personally, we all like to see Vice City get a HD version, I know we had a Liberty City get a HD version (GTA IV) and Los Santos/San Andreas get a HD version (GTA V), so I figured, it's Vice City's turn.

HeavyMetalGamer : As for Tommy Vercetti, I highly doubt that they will bring him back (other than maybe a minor cameo easter egg), because of both the strict Rockstar law of 3D-era character not allowed in HD-era games, plus the actor that voiced Vercetti (Ray Liotta) got really p***ed off with RockStar about him not getting the paycheck he wanted, although it would be tough call to see.

Like I mentioned above, the whole issue going on at RockStar with people leaving R* and former actors getting ticked about their pay, I don't think we will hear anything regarding GTA VI, at least in the short run, especially that GTA Online is still going extremely strong.

The_IB122 : I completely forgot he was mad at Rockstar. It's a damn shame really, because I would love to see Tommy Vercetti (with Ray Liotta as voice actor) make a return. That game is so damn fun to this day. I guess if they pay him a fat pay check, anything is possible.

Personally, I'd like to see Rockstar either do something completely new (that is if GTA 6 doesn't happen) or possibly bring back Manhunt. I love that game (MH2 was ok) and a third game needs to happen. Or possibly do Bully 2. Which has been talked about quite a bit over the last 5 years or so.

I'm excited for Grand Theft Auto VI, even with the lack of knowledge about it.

GTA games have always been instant day one purchases, and I'm sure GTA VI will be no different. In particular, the last game, GTA V, was a total masterpiece. With Rockstar making each GTA game better than the last, I have the utmost faith that GTA VI will somehow top even GTA V.

And with the power of the new hardware coming our way, I'm really ecstatic to see what happens next.

My only expectation and hope is for every room in every building to be enter-able. That is how we arrive at the true open world.

Tbh I’m hoping they can do a throwback to location, like similar to London but not London or at least visit vice city once more.
