I have a new Crosby turntable last year that folds up and can be taken around to wherever you travel. I find at some of the indie record stores around town and even at Walmart now you can by records from artists newest works.

Who would have thought all these years later that a physical media that was long thought dead would make such a big comeback like it has. The rich sound of records just cant be beat by digital or cd's. I have a nice Mcintosh tube amp and nice speakers in my house to play it over as well.

I own a couple vinyls of my favorite artists because they are cool looking and pretty valuable but since I don't have a player and don't really plan on getting one, I won't actually be able to hear them. Mostly just for the collection and for display, which is just as cool if you like the artist enough.

zanderlex : Get a player. If you take care of it and get a really good player it wont become damaged at all..unless you scratch it on purpose acting like a DJ. I love the covers and inserts. Alot of the newer albums print them on really unique records too. My Dr.Dre record is completely clear for Chronic 2001 and I have another one which is orange and another that is rainbow colored.

Not really, although we do have quite a few records at home still so maybe I should look through them and give them a listen sometime since it's not something I'd normally do, might be fun.

I don't really no. I don't even listen to music all that often to begin with but if I do it's always digital or through the radio in a car.

I've never listened to a record before I've seen some lying around the house, but never felt like trying to listen to them. xD I consider them ancient compared to me so just never really interested me.

I have about 100 vinyl myself but I don't want to use my Crosely turntable with them after discovering a fatal flaw in their design. In order to preserve the superior nature of my records, I'll have to get a player with a counterweight to balance the needle and ensure it doesn't dig deep into the grooves. The problem is that since Crosely players have no counterweight, their measured tracking force is nearly 4 times higher than a player with a counterweight, and since their stock speakers often provide no way to listen with external speakers, it's hard to tell on their players the damage that is done until you try your record on a friends player who has a their own copy.

Please everybody, buy vinyl. Because of how little streaming services pay out to artists they are resorting to touring 365 days a year to profit like they used to. They give you a nice big piece of collectibility for something you're passionate about, and if you get the right player, it sounds so much better. Take good care of them too.
