I just wanted to give a shout out to one of my favorite books, Flowers for Algernon. We read it in middle/high-school, but it's stuck with me ever since. It's essentially about a mentally deficient man, who wishes to be smarter, so he can be happy. But when he's given an experimental drug that makes him a genius, he discovers that being smart doesn't make you happy at all. Then tragedy befalls, but I'm not going to spoil what exactly happens, that's the best part. The thing is big philosophical piece, but be warned, it's not exactly kid friendly. It has its moments. I may as well end by sharing the cover, maybe it'll make you wanna pick it up more. Who knows?

This was a big blast from the past. I read this once around 8 years ago for class. If I'm not mistaken, it might have been my favorite book of that year but I don't think we were able to finish it in time.
