I've used a little of a lot, and a lot of a little. I mostly used RPG Maker VX Ace, back during my developing stint a few years back. I've tried MV, but it doesn't really seem all that different from VX. Aside from the battle system. I'm not really sure of a good reason to get it.

mastergame : I think I've heard about that. Honestly though, RPG Maker games have a distinct feel to them that's kinda off-putting though. The only one that felt really different that I've played is Always Sometimes Monsters.

The reason they feel so samey to me is the way the tiles work I guess. Unless that's just caused by people releasing games with barely edited sprites.

You know anything worth checking out?

Though newer ones are more fully featured, but incredibly expensive, MV is like $80 or $90 last time I saw.


Though I would have to say 2003 or XP would be my favorite, as they made some of my favorite RPG's like OFF, Ib, SMRPG Legend of the Seven Sages.
