Yesterday, I managed to play F-Zero X on a real Nintendo 64 console. I loved the speed, the soundtrack, and the sense of tension from each race I partook in.

However, playing the game reminded me of an Expansion Kit, which adds more to the soundtrack, as well as a ship & track editor. I'd like to play F-Zero X with the Expansion Kit, which I heard can only be played with the 64DD add-on, which (sadly) is only available in japan.

How hard is it to add the Nintendo 64DD in the Retro Game Room? I think it won't be as hard as it was 6 years ago.

It's gonna be almost impossible to add 64DD support unless Davideo7 has the budget for it.

Currently there are numerous systems included into the RGR plugin but N64DD isn't one of them.

Agreeing with tRIUNE, the Nintendo 64DD is extremely rare in Japan, and it hasn't been released outside of Japan. I have also looked online on places such as eBay, and it cost like us$1,000 or more just for the Nintendo 64DD add-on itself (not with the Nintendo 64, nor the 64DD games, just the add-on itself), and on top of that, each game I seen would be like us$250 each.

Plus also, they're only 15,000 Nintendo 64DD are in existence worldwide, which means the odds of David owning a Nintendo 64DD is 1 in 2,000,000, so even if David does in fact manage to get his hands on the 64DD, he's got to get the games which would be nearly impossible, which I will explain.

For the games, they're only 9 games (which half of those games are related to Mario Artist), and the most common game on the 64DD is Mario Artist, but the problem is that David can't add Mario Artist as well as F-Zero X Expansion Kit, because Nintendo got onto David (because someone had to report the site), so that only leaves 4 games, and those games are Kyojin no Doshin Kaihō Sensen Chibikko Chikko Daishūgou, Japan Pro Golf Tour 64, SimCity 64, & Doshin the Giant. These 4 games are extremely impossible to get, in fact, David has a better chance to win the lottery than managing to get all 4 of these games.

So, like I said, you won't be seeing the F-Zero X Expansion Kit, mostly because of both it being nearly impossible to get the Nintendo 64DD, mostly because the rarity of the 64DD itself, the complications of adding Disk games on here, most of the games on the 64DD are high data games which will suck up a whole lot of data which will cause severe lag (even the Nintendo 64 games themselves has some lag and glitchy issues), and legal issues with Nintendo.

Sadly, the only thing I can tell you, if you like the Expansion Kit for F-Zero X on the 64DD, your best bet is that you have to be lucky and have about us$2,000 or more and buy a Japaneses Nintendo 64 (because of the whole region-lock thing), buy the 64DD add-on, and buy a F-Zero X Expansion Kit, which all of this can be quite a chore.

There really isn't anything else to discuss so I'm closing thread.
