I'm no expert, but including your system specs will likely garner more assistance. Good luck, sir.

I've only ever used NVIDIA cards, so I'm a bit biased. That said, from what I've heard, NVIDIA cards are generally higher quality overall. AMD has been making some great improvements recently, though, so I don't think you'll be complaining either way (if you're getting a more recent model).

You should definitely avoid switching from one type of graphics card to another, though. If your current one is AMD, for example, then you'll need to stick with AMD. Motherboards are built for one or the other, generally.

I'd use https://pcpartpicker.com/ to ensure that everything within your build is compatible. I used it when building my current PC, and use it to ensure that parts I upgrade are compatible.

Hope it helps, and good luck!

I've used both and in my experience, when something is patched, its typically patched for Nvidia first then AMD/Radeon.

If you play Overwatch, you'll find it annoying when a patch is rolled out and you're crashing every other game.

But, on the plus side, Radeon cards are typically much cheaper than Nvidia cards with similar specs.

KillerLatias : You know you can actually summon moderators, and threads do close from inactivity if there's no new replies for a couple months.

I personally use AMD right now because it's bigger bang for your buck, but Nvidia is definitely the best in terms of quality. I feel like AMD has a less expensive quality-to-cost ratio, but Nvidia is as reliable as they come when it comes to quality. Also, if you're a super duper uber PC gamer Nvidia has the highest cap with their Titan chipsets.

Vanelan : Do you know if Blizzard ever fixed the AMD driver crashes? I haven't heard of it being fixed so I'm still using a fairly old driver. Also you should probably close this thread because he requested it and he already bought the graphics card in question.

TheFadedWarrior :
They fortunately did. However, I did a clean install of the new drivers without the stupid Radeon app (I believe its called Adrenalin).
Its kinda pointless anyway.

I haven't had a crash since.
