The jury in Bill Cosby's retrial today found the comedian guilty of sexual assault.

Thus, the 80-yr. old TV icon will serve 10 yrs. in prison for sexually assaulting Amanda Constand at his home in '04.

It's a real disappointment to generations of people that Bill Cosby of all people could do things like that. 

zanthehero : Well, no offense, but let's not jump to any conclusions here. Just because someone is "found guilty" doesn't mean they actually are. Personally I buy into accusations against rich celebrities with extreme caution because of all the attention their accusers stand to gain. Call me cynical, I guess.

Regardless, this is something that I see a lot of, and it's a sad thing: people assume a guilty verdict means a person is actually guilty. I've seen too many innocent people locked away to be so sure anymore.

I see this everyday at work. Its really impossible to say for ourselves without actually being there for the whole trial.
Even though I work in a court, if I miss any of the testimony, I could never be sure myself of someone's guilt or innocence.

I guess the jury saw enough to believe he was guilty.

I'm just glad he was actually found guilty via a trial rather than found guilty based on accusation alone.

I'm tired of someone being accused of something and then public opinion ruins their life before any evidence is presented. Anyone can accuse someone of something but I want proof before I'll jump on the bandwagon to see them go to jail for it. If he is truly guilty then he deserves to be punished for it.

And in this case I don't see any financial gain for the people involved. Sure, there will probably be interviews and possible book deals but those would have been available for the previous 20-30 years.

He'll likely spend the rest of his life in jail which sounds like that is what he deserves.

geeogree : Which I fully agree with, I don't like it when people wants to accuse someone of any kind of crimes (especially sexual assault), without any kind of evidence, just look on what's happening with US President Donald Trump right now in the eyes of the Liberals (Russia, Stormy, and everything else), and before any of you ask, I'm not a Conservative nor a Liberal, I'm a 3rd Party Libertarian. Hearing people that they want to impeach and/or send anyone to prison without any kind of evidence shouldn't be allowed. But what makes Bill Cosby's case different, we actually got physical prove that he committed these sexual acts against these women

Based on what I read, Bill Cosby gets 10 years per sexual assault case and there is a total of 43 confirmed cases and 16 possible cases (59 total cases), and if you do the math, Bill Cosby will face anywhere between 430 to 590 years is prison, which you might as well call it a life sentence. But knowing Cosby's past fame and fortune, I give it probably 10 years until Cosby is released.

But honestly, I really didn't care too much about Bill Cosby before he committed these sex acts on all the women he did, but I am glad that he's going to prison for the rest of his life, and it's a great thing that any Television, Movies, and every other media in history is erasing any trace of Bill Cosby out of existence and I guaranteed that once Bill Cosby is no longer alive, they're going to pretend that Cosby never existed..

It doesn't say 10 years, between everything, it could be between 3 and 30 years but that won't be picked until around July.

It makes me wonder what their reasoning will be for the length they pick.

well i guess these women got what they asked for after what 30 years or so, of finding bill Cosby guilty.

i kind of blame the women mostly for this because, they didn't go to the police earlier and they waited like 30 years to convict bill cosby.

hellno163 : Sadly, that's the thing with these victims, they want to wait and then try and convict their rapists, instead of doing it earlier (heck, even 1-5 years after the case would be acceptable, back when they are in their prime).

This comes to show you that if you report the rapist early, you would prevent from the rapist committing even more crimes, and it would add up severely.

Just throwing it out there, some people who are raped or even sexually assaulted don't admit or confess right away for several factors. For all we knew, it could've token them so long cuz maybe they felt no one would believe them, or they told someone and they thought they were lying. It could also be another reason outside of the lie thing. I have a classmate who revealed she was raped and she never went to the police out of fear that no one would believe her, not helped that she had told her parents, and they didn't believe her at all.

Just a thought, there could be reasons why these women took so long to finally say something, and it's good they let it out now than kept it hidden forever.
