I just watched the first episode of "The Mayor". It's about an African-American guy who almost stumbles into mayorship of a city. I was impressed by the trailer, but I didn't give it a shot until today. It was better than I expected. I was actually quite impressed by the show. Funny without being exploitative, the show's opening episode sees a somewhat selfish...well, boy thrown into responsibility. Now, I won't say it didn't get off to a rough start. I wondered if it was going a different direction at first. But it seems to be a really great show. If the rest of the show lives up to the highs of the first episode, I think it might become one of my favorite shows ever.
