Psalms 49 (KJV)

To the chief Musician,

A Psalm

for the sons

of Korah.

Hear

this,

all

ye people;

give ear,

all

ye inhabitants

of the world:

Both

low

and

high,

rich

and poor,

together.

My mouth

shall speak

of wisdom;

and the meditation

of my heart

shall be of understanding.

I will incline

mine ear

to a parable:

I will open

my dark saying

upon the harp.

They that trust

their wealth,

and boast themselves

in the multitude

of their riches;

None

of them can

by any means

redeem

his brother,

nor

give

to God

a ransom

for him:

(For the redemption

of their soul

is precious,

and it ceaseth

for ever:)

That he should still

live

for ever,

and not

see

corruption.

Nevertheless man

being in honour

abideth

not:

he is like

the beasts

that perish.

This

their way

is their folly:

yet their posterity

approve

their sayings.

Selah.

But

God

will redeem

my soul

from the power

of the grave:

for

he shall receive

me. Selah.

Be not

thou afraid

when

one

is made rich,

when

the glory

of his house

is increased;

For when

he dieth

he shall carry

nothing

away:

his glory

shall not

descend

after

him.

He shall go

the generation

of his fathers;

they shall never

see

light.

Man

that is in honour,

and understandeth

not,

is like

the beasts

that perish.

לַמְנַצֵּ֬חַ׀ לִבְנֵי קֹ֬רַח מִזְמֽוֹר׃

שִׁמְעוּ זֹ֭את כָּל הָֽעַמִּ֑ים הַ֝אֲזִ֗ינוּ כָּל יֹ֥שְׁבֵי חָֽלֶד׃

גַּם בְּנֵ֣י אָ֭דָם גַּם בְּנֵי אִ֑ישׁ יַ֝֗חַד עָשִׁ֥יר וְאֶבְיֽוֹן׃

פִּ֭י יְדַבֵּ֣ר חָכְמ֑וֹת וְהָג֖וּת לִבִּ֣י תְבוּנֽוֹת׃

אַטֶּ֣ה לְמָשָׁ֣ל אָזְנִ֑י אֶפְתַּ֥ח בְּ֝כִנּ֗וֹר חִידָתִֽי׃

לָ֣מָּה אִ֭ירָא בִּ֣ימֵי רָ֑ע עֲוֹ֖ן עֲקֵבַ֣י יְסוּבֵּֽנִי׃

הַבֹּטְחִ֥ים עַל חֵילָ֑ם וּבְרֹ֥ב עָ֝שְׁרָ֗ם יִתְהַלָּֽלוּ׃

אָ֗ח לֹא פָדֹ֣ה יִפְדֶּ֣ה אִ֑ישׁ לֹא יִתֵּ֖ן לֵאלֹהִ֣ים כָּפְרֽוֹ׃

וְ֭יֵקַר פִּדְי֥וֹן נַפְשָׁ֗ם וְחָדַ֥ל לְעוֹלָֽם׃

וִֽיחִי ע֥וֹד לָנֶ֑צַח לֹ֖א יִרְאֶ֣ה הַשָּֽׁחַת׃

כִּ֤י יִרְאֶ֨ה׀ חֲכָ֘מִ֤ים יָמ֗וּתוּ יַ֤חַד כְּסִ֣יל וָבַ֣עַר יֹאבֵ֑דוּ וְעָזְב֖וּ לַאֲחֵרִ֣ים חֵילָֽם׃

קִרְבָּ֤ם בָּתֵּ֨ימוֹ׀ לְֽעוֹלָ֗ם מִ֭שְׁכְּנֹתָם לְד֣וֹר וָדֹ֑ר קָֽרְא֥וּ בִ֝שְׁמוֹתָ֗ם עֲלֵ֣י אֲדָמֽוֹת׃

וְאָדָ֣ם בִּ֭יקָר בַּל יָלִ֑ין נִמְשַׁ֖ל כַּבְּהֵמ֣וֹת נִדְמֽוּ׃

זֶ֣ה דַ֭רְכָּם כֵּ֣סֶל לָ֑מוֹ וְאַחֲרֵיהֶ֓ם׀ בְּפִיהֶ֖ם יִרְצ֣וּ סֶֽלָה׃

כַּצֹּ֤אן׀ לִֽשְׁא֣וֹל שַׁתּוּ֮ מָ֤וֶת יִ֫רְעֵ֥ם וַיִּרְדּ֘וּ בָ֤ם יְשָׁרִ֨ים׀ לַבֹּ֗קֶר וְ֭ציּרָם לְבַלּ֥וֹת שְׁא֗וֹל מִזְּבֻ֥ל לֽוֹ׃

אַךְ אֱלֹהִ֗ים יִפְדֶּ֣ה נַ֭פְשִׁי מִֽיַּד שְׁא֑וֹל כִּ֖י יִקָּחֵ֣נִי סֶֽלָה׃

אַל תִּ֭ירָא כִּֽי יַעֲשִׁ֣ר אִ֑ישׁ כִּֽי יִ֝רְבֶּה כְּב֣וֹד בֵּיתֽוֹ׃

כִּ֤י לֹ֣א בְ֭מוֹתוֹ יִקַּ֣ח הַכֹּ֑ל לֹא יֵרֵ֖ד אַחֲרָ֣יו כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃

כִּֽי נַ֭פְשׁוֹ בְּחַיָּ֣יו יְבָרֵ֑ךְ וְ֝יוֹדֻ֗ךָ כִּי תֵיטִ֥יב לָֽךְ׃

תָּ֭בוֹא עַד דּ֣וֹר אֲבוֹתָ֑יו עַד נֵ֝֗צַח לֹ֣א יִרְאוּ אֽוֹר׃

אָדָ֣ם בִּ֭יקָר וְלֹ֣א יָבִ֑ין נִמְשַׁ֖ל כַּבְּהֵמ֣וֹת נִדְמֽוּ׃
