Kirby Adventure (Kirby game Review)   tornadocam
Here we go we are going on a tornado adventure with me tornadocam. Only kidding we are going to be reviewing Kirby's Adventure.
Story: 9
The story in Kirby's Adventure is fairly simple. The residents of dreamland often take napes to sleep and dream. One day Kirby wakes up as he is not able to fall asleep. The dreams are caught in the dream fountain which helps people in dreamland sleep. Kirby thinks there is something wrong in the fountain of dreams were the star rod is kept. Kirby sees King Dedede swimming in the fountain. Kirby ask him what he had done with the star rod. The king tells Kirby that he broke it up into 6 pieces and gave it to some friends. King Dedede tries to tell Kirby why but Kirby has none of it. He sets on an adventure to reclaim the star rod. Okay the plot in this game was pretty simple.  Basically, Kirby has to go through 7 worlds to save dreamland. I kind of like how this introduces players to Kirby games. For those that do not know Dreamland is were Kirby lives. It is also were most of the action in his games take place. So it was nice that Hal Labs who made this game got creative to introduce players to Kirby games. There is also something else I really like how right at the end of the last world there is a plot twists to this game. A new plot takes place. I will not be spoiler here but I will give a hint King Dedede is now what he seems and is not that evil. Okay back to the plot. I really like it when games throw a plot twist at the end or during the middle of the game. It kind of adds suspense and keeps the player from thinking they have it all figured out. This was a great game that had a good basic plot and had a plot twist later in the game.

Graphics: 10
The Graphics in this game rocked for it to be an 8 bit game. I really like the backgrounds and colors in this game. The first world is a forest level and the trees make one think they are actually in a forest beating up the bad guys. The second level is an island. I really like how the water looks in this game it looks like a 16 bit graphical representation of water. The graphics really shine after world 4. The world 4 is a garden theme it really is nice how it makes the player think they are playing in a garden in the clouds. The fifth world is a mountain level. Level 6 is an orange ocean level and the graphics are terrific. I really like how in the later two worlds how the constellations in the ice stages really shine in the background. The ice glows and so do the stars in the background which is a nice touch. It makes me feel relaxed while playing the ice stages, which is good because they are often tricky. The sprints in this game are also good especially when Kirby has a weapon. The enemies sprints are nice too and they are fun to watch after getting their powers. The controls in this game are very awesome. Kirby looks to be very smooth. There is no lag in this game even at the very end of the game I thought there would be a lag because most levels of that kind there usually is on 8 bit systems. But there wasn't.  Kirby's Adventures really had some awesome graphics, and controls.

Sound: 10
Kirby's Adventure really shined on sound. This game has a lot of sound tracks as most Kirby games do. Each world has its own theme but in the worlds the stages have different themes. My favorites are the Garden level's music, the Ice levels music they sound so relaxing and peaceful. The other sound tracks in this game also are good. The enemies have different sounds depending on their powers. The tornado enemy sounds like a tornado, the rock enemies when they land make a loud sound, the spark enemies should like electricity. Kirby can have different sounds depending on the weapon he posses. To be honest, I can compare this sound to some of the Mega Man games I have played. Mega Man is known for having good sound tracks and awesome sounds. Kirby's adventure is like the Mega Man games awesome music, sound and enemy sounds.  What I also like is for this to be an 8 bit system the sounds do not tingle. The sounds in this game sound like a 16 bit system.
Addictiveness and Depth: 9
Kirby's Adventure really had good replay value. I liked this game because of the plot twist at the end, the good graphics and sound. This game was fun to play when it first came out. Guess what it is still fun to play now. I really enjoyed this game. The game also has huge depth. Now the levels might not be too long but they make up for it. There are a lot of secrets to unlock in this area. Secrets will need to be unlocked to open bonus games. Their are switches in a lot of levels the player will need to find them to unlock the bonus games. The game has a lot of weapons the player can get. I often find it is fun to play through the game with a different weapon so that adds depth. I like games were you have a lot of weapon choices to play through the game with, it is just that fun. Now there is one thing that keeps the depth rating from being a perfect 10 out of 10. This is a moderate long game. Some of the worlds only have 4 stages and some have 6. They are only 7 worlds. I wish games this fun had longer levels. I know I said they made up for it with the secrets, but still they could have thrown in more stages. As I stated the game is not too long so players that are decent can probably clear this game in a couple of hours.
Difficulty:6
Here is were Kirby's Adventure suffers the game is not to bad difficulty wise. They are some tricky spots sometimes when Kirby flies an enemy can drop down and knock you out of the sky. There are some pits that it is better not to use special weapons or otherwise you will fall into the pits. The last 3 worlds is were the game can be difficult due to their bosses and a lot of them levels have ice in them. Some of the secrets in the latter stages require certain weapons, creativity, timing and skill to get. So that adds some difficulty. Meta Knight the boss in level 6 is the boss that gave me the most trouble in this game. The final boss hint it is not King Dedede game me some trouble. Other than those areas this game was not difficulty at all. I was hoping it would be more difficult, simply because I am a guy that likes to be challenged. Last time I played this I do not think I lost a live till World 6 maybe. I could have lost one in World 4 but I remember dying a few times in World 6. So not to bad. The enemy placement is numerous but if you have a weapon that is not trouble at all. I wonder if Kirby's Adventure was maybe rushed a little bit. Thus, I can only give this game a moderate difficulty rating.
Overall: 9.3
At the end of the difficulty section I said I wondered if Kirby might not have been rushed a little bit. The reason is because this game along with Mega Man 6 were some of the last games to come out for the NES. The NES was way past its peak when Kirby came out in late 1993. So maybe Hal Labs wanted to get this game out before the NES was discontinued and that is why there were not that many stages and it was not that hard of a game. Kirby's Adventure is credited with starting Kirby's popularity in the game world. Still, this is a very fun game that I had playing. I remember getting this game for Christmas and I played it a lot. Kirby's Adventure is a fun game due to all the weapons you can have, the graphics, and the music. I really liked the music in this game especially in the ice levels. Kirby's Adventure is a fun game for everybody regardless of your age. I played this game I want to think when I was 8 maybe 9. Here I am in my late 20's and I still like to go back and play this game. I would highly recommend playing this game.

My Review on: Kirby's Adventure   accpikachu2
Hello everyone!  I beat Kirby's Adventure a while ago so I thought "why not do a review?"  Here I am ready to give my opinion on this game; if you don't see things this way, that's fine.  But enough of me babbling, let's begin the review!
Graphics:  The graphics for Kirby's Adventure are detailed, colorful, polished, and beautiful.  Most NES games, you couldn't make out what something was and what something wasn't.  In this game, you can tell what EVERYTHING is!  If the Kirby characters were based on real animals (only a few are), you could just go "hey, that's a fox,"  or "hey, that's a bat."  The graphics themselves can actually be humorous as well, like Kirby's face when he loses a life, or the picture for the fire ability; you can't help but laugh.  I'm giving graphics ten (10)!
Sound:  The soundtrack from this game is just amazing!  All of the tracks are catchy, all of them are used in the right situation, and I only find one of them to be repetitive (if you beat the game from start to finish, you know what I mean).  If you had to make a countdown for 8-bit tunes, you should be able to get at least one music piece from this game to that list.  I'm giving Soundtrack another ten (10)!
Addictiveness:  This game is very addictive.  There are mini-games that give you extra lives and a little replay ability.  There are a whole bunch of secret doors in this game and if you find a big switch in that secret door, than you can unlock more mini game doors and warp star rooms (which I'll explain later).  But the main reason that I'm giving this a high addictiveness is because the minute that I beat the game, I just had to play the game from start to finish AGAIN.  Yes, I wanted (and I did) to play the game from start to finish and beat the final boss.  I can't explain it, but I did.  Addictiveness gets yet another ten (10)!
Story:  Probably the only flaw of this game.  Before I begin, you can access the plot by waiting on the title screen for a while, (wait for the demo to end and you'll be rewarded with the plot).  So dreamland is known for having wonderful dreams (duh), but it hasn't had any dreams for a while, so Kirby goes out to investigate.  Later, Kirby finds King Dedede splitting up the Star Rod (the source of dreams) and giving it to his friends.  Now Kirby has to go beat up Dedede's minions and friends, then go put the Star Rod back onto the fountain of dreams.  And to think that you had to go through so much trouble for that little plot.  Plot only gets a one (1).....
Depth:  This game has a ton of depth!  There's the main story mode where you go through 7 worlds of madness.  There's the mini-games that replenish your health and can give you extra lives (if you're good enough).  There's Crane Fever (the crane machines in real life), Quick Draw, where you need to press the A button in literally the exact millisecond they say fire, and egg catcher, where you have to try to eat eggs without eating bombs.   After you beat the game, you can do a boss rush (though you can't heal, can't choose an ability at the start, and if you die, you have to start the boss rush from the beginning).  If you can manage to beat the game and find every single secret door, you can play hard mode, where you can only take three hits instead of six.  Trust me, you are going to have a hard time beating hard.  Depth gets a ten (10)
Difficulty:  This game is very difficult; there are well placed enemies, well placed obstacles, and levels are long and tedious.  Sometimes, they combine multiple factors like having enemies that chase you in a place where its windy and you have to fly (it's slow).  I'm giving difficulty an eight (8)!
Overall, I give this game a 9.8!  On a more personal note, I only like one game more than this (and it's not Super Mario Bros. 3).  See you next time on my next review!

The true kickstarter of the Kirby franchise   pollution_skunk
As I said before in my Recca review, the NES' last years (1989-1994) were an amazing time for the console and it's owners.
The ugly grey toaster that somehow saved the then-young videogame industry from the Great Crash of 1983 was pretty old at the time, but Nintendo enginereed it so that it could live forever in the minds of videogamers and developers alike! When such achievment is successfully obtained in the virtual entertainment industry (which it was in the NES' case), it's common for dedicated developers to keep making software for it even when better equipment exists out there, and this (seemingly) insane dedication often leads into dev teams "mastering" the hardware they work on - i.e., being able to squeeze every single bit of processing power the console/handheld has to offer.
One of those teams that managed to do so with the NES was Nintendo themselves... Well, not exactly. I'm actually talking about HAL Laboratory (ex-HALken), the Big N second-party/subdivision responsible for Kirby, Super Smash Brothers, EarthBound (partially) and many other classic franchises exclusive to the japanese developer's devices. What few people know is that before being directly combined with Big N in the late 90's/early 00's, HAL was a developer free to work in any hardware they wished to! In fact, their first creation was the Eggerland/Adventures Of Lolo series of cutesy-but-though-with-a-few-quirks sliding-puzzle games, with the first in the series, the eponymous Eggerland Mystery! (yes, it has that exclamation mark at the end), being released in Japan and Europe for MSX1 computers in 1985, three years before they struck a deal with Nintendo. After re-creating and remixing the previously-released Eggerland games for Nintendo's 80's console, their first "original" creation for the nipponic gargantuar was a tech demo showcasing the then-upcoming Game Boy's capabilities. The project presented was a simple platformer with a smiley face nicknamed "PoPoPo" as the player's (in this case, a young Masahiro Sakurai) avatar. Liking the character and the concepts presented in the demonstration, He, the great Shigeru Myiamoto, demanded that it had to be made into a full game with his assistance. PoPoPo was developed into a round hyperactive little... thing... with arms and feet and a voracious appetite, and thus Kirby's Dreamland was born.
It was a massive hit (as all Nintendo games were at the time), spawning a number of small cash-in/spinoff titles that used the original game's assets to build virtual pinball tables, a Breakout/Arkanoid clone (thus being a sequel to HAL's earlier GB title Alleyway) and a competitive match-three puzzle game. They were all released exclusively to the Game Boy in the short span of time between 4/27/1992 and 3/26/1993, when Kirby finally got a brand-new game for the aging NES in the form of Kirby's Adventure. Not only it's one of the 8-bit console's finest platformers and a huge technical achievment for such a lovingly dated device, it's also the game that set up all now-well-known Kirby traditions and really put the series on it's way to being one of Big N's best.
GAMEPLAY: 9/10
Right off the bat, you'll notice that Kirby is extremely versatile for an 8-bit platformer hero. Aside from the basic actions everyone can do, the pink fluffbal can dash, slide, fly (for an unlimited time!) and... use his mouth as a vacuum to store enemies whole in his tiny little body and spit them back at other mean critters. I know it's a pretty crazy gameplay mechanic, but someone who played Kirby's Dreamland before will be used to it. What probably threw off some early Kirby fans is the character's now-trademark Copy Abilities! Back in KD, special objects you found through the stages could be sucked in to give you special abilities like spitting fireballs and defeating all on-screen enemies with an ear-piercing noise, but Adventur makes them obtainable by sucking up enemies and... digesting... them. All of Dreamland's powers are back in improved forms (the Mike/Microphone ability lets you sing three times per enemy sucked now, as an example), and a wider variety of powers is now available, with most of them becoming Kirby trademarks. The controls themselves are very well-done, fluid and easy to learn, making the game one of the most (if not the most) newbie-friendly NES platformers out there.
I just think that more care would be put on the Copy Ability department. Multiple moves for each ability, achieved either by button combinations like in Kirby Super Star or by a partner system like the one in Kirby's Dreamland 2 and 3, would be a very neat addition, but I understand the series was walking in baby steps at the time. Nonethless, some abilities feel incomplete and/or are hard to control - a particular example being the Wheel power, that doesn't let you jump while transformed (a problem also fixed in later Kirby titles). So, because of these small problems, I give this game's gameplay a 9 out of 10.
DIFFICULTY AND DEPTH: 5/10 and 10/10
The "mainline" Kirby games are always designed to be easy enough for younger and/or casual gamers to beat, at the same time offering secrets and extra challenges for dedicated gamers to aim for, and Kirby's Adventure captures this perfectly. The difficulty curve is pretty soft and no stage is as hard as the ones from Mega Man, Castlevania or even Super Mario Bros. 3, so the game's challenge comes from having to fully explore each of the stages to find switches that open extra rooms in each world's hub. Finding and activating all of these switches is mandatory to clear KA with a 100% completeness rating, and the rooms you discover can offer either mini-games that reward you with extra lives when you do well or a quick-warp system to all of the game's colorful lands.
Kirby's Adventure also presents some pretty neat post-100% content for the hardcore gamer. Some stages have secret/alternate routes that greatly increases it's difficulty and offer big rewards (the easiest to find and most famous being the secret entrance to 7-2's miniboss tower), and getting 100% in the normal game opens up Extra Mode (a Kirby tradition), that challenges you to re-beat the game with half your lifebar... and in one go! Kirby's Adventure cartridge (and subsequently it's ROM) is equipped with a battery backup (a.k.a. saving) system, something very rare for an 8-bit platformer. Better yet, it autosaves with each stage beaten and each switch pressed! This makes progressing through the game very sweet and easy. Even if you don't find all the secrets when you defeat the final boss, the "V.S. BOSS!" (yet another Kirby tradition stabilished here) mode will open up in the menu, challenging you to beat all of the game's bosses without any ability (although you can absorb abilities from certain bosses' attacks) and with a single life!
STORY: 10/10
The story is simple and fully explained in the post-title screen intro, and it goes like this: One day, the inhabitants of Kirby's native Dream Land (including the puffball himself) stopped having peaceful dreams while they sleep. The brave little pink thing decides to investigate and finds out that Dream Land's self-proclaimed king, the fat penguin DeDeDe, broke the Star Rod (not the one from Paper Mario!) and is using the sanctuary it powered, the Fountain Of Dreams (better known as one of the best stages in Super Smash Bros. Melee) as his personal swimming pool (wait, what?). Now Kirby has to defeat all of 3D's henchmen guarding the pieces of the Rod (with some coming back from Kirby's Dreamland) and crush the crazy king!
While pretty normal at first, the plot has a small twist and a nightmarish true final boss after the battle against Triple D, setting yet another Kirby tradition in place. The care put on explaining the storyline in-game and the twist at the end makes it feel special and different than most other retro platformers, so I give it a full 10 out of 10.
GRAPHICS: 10/10
Kirby's Adventure is the only official NES game to have the impressive (for the console) memory size of 4 Mega (512 Kilo), and it's graphics show it off. The game is, simply put, the most colorful and varied in Nintendo's beloved console's massive library, with small but well-animated and detailed sprites, artsy backgrounds that are reused in few levels and always with some added/changed part, and some truly amazing graphical effects.
Each room of every stage has it's unique pastel color pallete focusing on the color your current world is named after that also affects enemies, giving the illusion of lighting effects in an 8-bit console! Speaking of lighting, a few rooms are dark at first, making the black doors that help you advance through the game hard to see, but a rare ability can brighten up things so you can find the exit. It's all those neat graphical effects like the shine in the sword of the Sword (derp) ability, the auroras in the ice stages and the final boss' transparent body that makes Kirby's Adventure really stand out. I only think some backgrounds could use some parallax scrolling, but it would be just a tiny effect lost in an ocean of much better ones anyway.
SOUND: 10/10
Another example of Kirby's Adventure 4-Mega superiority lays on it's sound. The soundtrack is big and varied with multiple songs for each world, with the tunes you hear in each hub room being unique and my personal favorites along with the final boss' theme. Many stages use the same songs, but they are all catchy to the point of you never getting tired of them.
The sound technology used to produce the game's beats is also one of the best and most advanced in the NES, extensively using the console's PCM and PSG channels to produce an unique soundtrack, comparable only to HAL's own Adventures Of Lolo III. Paying the due respects, I give the sound department a 10 out of 10.
ADDICTIVENESS: 8/10
Kirby's Adventure isn't a game to be addicted to, but trying to find all switches and secret passageways and beating the secret modes can be quite a challenge, so it proves to have some content that you can re-visit later. Another cool thing to mess with are the abilities. Try playing a whole stage with only the Throw or Backdrop powers - it's a cool and crazy challenge.
OVERALL: 10/10
Kirby's Adventure is the best platformer on the NES and one of it's best games, but not one of the Kirby franchise's biggest gems. At the time, the series was just beggining and needed some improvements on some finer aspects, but the game is excellent anyway and a limit-breaking retro masterpiece. I actually prefer the original 8-bit version over the GBA remake (Kirby's Nightmare in Dream Land) because of the things it manages to do with the NES' hardware, and even if you already played the enchanced version, you should try the original someday... preferably right now.

Kirby's Adventure Review by: TreasurePlanet23   TreasurePlanet23
Introduction: Kirby's Adventure is a side-scrolling platform game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Kirby, a pink piece of bubblegum, will be the protagonist in this game. He uses his atomic super inhale breath to inhale enemies and steal their powers. He sets out to find the seven pieces of the Dream Rod, and retrieve them back from King Dedede and his six minions, and return them back to their rightful place, in the Fountain of Dreams. Kirby will have to travel to 7 different worlds, defeating all the levels within the worlds, as well as King Dedede's six minions. Now, without further ado, let's jump right into the review!
Graphics: The graphics in this game are very bland and unappealing. Depending on which world, you will have a certain texture dealing with the name of the world. Some levels just have a scrambled mess of pixels repeated throughout the entire stage. After a while, it really wares out on your eyes. Kirby is very distinct in color in comparison to the other enemies as well as the background. Most of the enemies are a similar color. The game doesn't really give you much of a variety of color, so that's a downer. The creators of this game got real lazy with the graphics in this game, so for that, I will rate the graphics an average 5/10, and that is being very generous.
Sound: There really isn't much in the way of music in this game. Each world has their own tunes for the levels, and it really gets annoying after a while. Sometimes I just wanted to bash my head into the wall because the levels were so long and I had to listen to the same song repeated. The boss music is really dull and lifeless. Boss music should get you pumped and want to defeat the boss. Take Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project for example, that had some great music in it, as well as the boss stages. So, for mediocre music, annoying repeated songs, and a lack of interest for the music, I will rate the music a 4/10.
Addictiveness: To tell you the truth, I really had a fun time playing this game the first time. Sure, it was short, but I really liked how the game played and the controls were fluent. This game isn't like Super Mario Bros where you always want to replay it. This game is one of those games where you play it once, then you are done. But, now that I look back on it, it really didn't age that well. All the enemies were the same and didn't have any variety. The bosses were laughably easy, especially the last final bosses. The game didn't increase in difficulty after a certain amount of time. But, we will talk about difficulty in that segment. I have to say though, Kirby's ability to steal an enemy's ability is pretty cool. One of my favorites has to be the sword ability or the UFO ability. Just to become a UFO is awesome, yet dumb at the same time haha. I also like that Kirby can float like a balloon if you press the up arrow on the D-Pad. That was pretty cool. Anyways, if I were to go back and replay this, oh wait, I wouldn't. So for that, I gave the addictiveness a 4/10.
Story: So, the story starts out like this. Kirby wakes up from his afternoon nap, and realized that he didn't have any dreams. That's pretty strange to me because how are you supposed to know if you had any dreams or not? Anyways, he goes to check the Fountain of Dreams and finds that King Dedede has stolen the Star Rod. The Star Rod is the source of the Fountain of Dreams. King Dedede has broken it into seven pieces, and distributed it among his minions. Which are, Whispy Woods, Paint Roller, Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright, Kracko, Heavy Mole, and Meta Knight. He has also kept one piece to himself, so that adds up to seven, yay I can count! So, Kirby has to go through all seven worlds, and defeat all King Dedede's minions, then he can regain all the pieces to the Star Rod, place it back in the Fountain of Dreams, then he can dream again. To me, that is a pretty stupid plot. He has to go and get all of the pieces, just because he wants to dream again? Well, I guess this is targeted to the younger audience, but come on! You can't think of something more exciting than that? I am really disappointed with this story. Anyways, for this terribly bad story, I am giving it a 3/10.
Depth: This game is as repetitive as can be. But, it is a sidescroller, so it is somewhat tolerable. But, there is no variety in the enemy choice. I mean come on, do I really want to be fighting the same enemies over and over? This game came out in 1993, the last leg of the NES and they couldn't come up with any other enemies? I am also really disappointed here with the lack of enemy choice. There really isn't that much more to say. I guess I can give some credit to the, uh, I can't think of anything. So, I rate the dept of this game a whaling 4/10.
Difficulty: This game was laughably easy. The game is really short also. I can speed run this game in 5 minutes probably. Maybe I will try to do it here on vizzed. All the bosses are really easy to defeat, if you know what the pattern is. The levels are basically all the same, so you can pretty much expect what is coming up ahead. You can beat a single level within a minute and thirty seconds if you are good at it. I believe the first boss of the game is the tree where you just have to suck up the apples and spit them at the tree, then you have beaten it. All the bosses have the same difficulty, easy. Bottom line, the game is easy, you can do it with your eyes closed, I give the difficulty a 3/10.
Overview: Kirby was a good game for it's time, but it was too easy. I am sure that a lot of people will agree with me also. It had some cool things implemented in it and a lot of flaws. I assume that they have fixed them in the later versions of the game. I had a lot of fun playing it the first time, but now, it is pretty bad. But, hey! It's my opinion! So, overall, I will rate this game a 4.3/10. I hope you enjoyed my review! Please leave me some feedback and I will be sure to get back to you. Have a nice day!

Kirby's Adventure Review   Marcmoney
Overall - 9.1
Kirby's Adventure is one of the greatest adventure games ever.  I played this for so long and it sure had a lot of levels and a lot of power ups.  The mini games to get 1-Ups are very fun too.
Graphics - 9
The graphics are very well-made.  It sure is perfect for the game style. :P
Sound - 9
The sound is good too.  A bit girlie, but that is what Kirby is. :)
Addictiveness - 7
The game is so fun that I would play it again if I beaten the game.
Story - 8
The story is wonderful, different levels and different worlds to go into.  I am not sure if there is a story or not in this game, but you can check under the Game Description section to see.
Depth - 8
The game is very big.  I have gone to the 5th or 6th world and I think I am 75% done with the game. :S
Difficulty - 5
The game is not that hard to play.  Kirby has plenty of health and you can fly infinitely throughout a level.  I do that some of the time. :P
Wrap Things Up...
Kirby's Adventure has so much things that you will miss if you had never played this game.  I guarantee that you will like the game if you love playing Adventure games. :)

One of the Last Games for the NES   luigi25

Kirby's Adventure was one of the last games released for the NES in the spring of 1993. It is the second game in the Kirby series, and it includes quite a lot more content and features that Kirby's Dreamland didn't have. I think Kirby's Adventure was the game that helped launch the Kirby franchise with the addition of the copy abilities and more content. However, this isn't my favorite Kirby game. I liked the version they did on the Gameboy Advance better. Even though, Kirby's Adventure was released when I was a kid, I never heard of it. It wasn't until I played the game on Vizzed over 3 years ago that I first experienced it. Since then, it has been a somewhat positive experience, but not the same as it was with Mario or Sonic.

Graphics 9/10: Kirby's Adventure has to be the best looking game on the NES. Nintendo took the graphics a step above those in Super Mario Bros. 3. However like that game, it was still an 8-bit NES game, so you could only get so much out of it visually. I think if it weren't for the game being limited like it was, the graphics would be perfect. Nintendo was taking things a step further than what they were with the Mario games for the NES. There is a good deal of detail put into the sprites and backgrounds. I felt like Kirby's Dreamland might have been the better looking game, but Kirby's Adventure isn't bad either.

Music 8/10: In Kirby's Adventure, you have a soundtrack with a lot of variety. Like in a lot of the games I've reviewed so far, the variety hurts it more than it helps it. Most of the music in this game isn't that impressive. The songs are okay with exception to 2 or 3 that are all that catchy. Kirby's Dreamland may not have had as much variety, but I felt like those songs all were A quality material. Here, most of them are B and even C quality with only a few being that great. It's really a part of the game I'm mixed on. You get a game with decent music with very few tracks that are all that memorable.

Gameplay 10/10: The main thing that set Kirby's Adventure apart from Kirby's Dreamland was the use of the many copy abilities. Now, when Kirby swallowed an enemy, he could take that enemy's powers by inhaling the enemy with the B button and then pressing Down on the control pad. Some of the copy abilities I liked most were: The Fire Ability, Fireball, Ice Ability, The Hi-Jump, Cutter, The Sword, and The Laser. I know there are other copy abilities, but these are the ones I found the most useful.

In Kirby's Adventure, there are a total of 7 worlds, and each one has their own overworld map similar to what you had in Super Mario Bros. 3. I like how the worlds have their own themes as well. You get levels with forests, castles, oceans, mountains, caves, clouds, ice levels, etc. Just like in any other video game, these themed levels are what adds variety to the level design and makes for some interesting gameplay. Like most platformers, Kirby's Adventure never gets boring because of the many different stages it contains. Yes, it has many stages, but they are pretty short in length and can be finished in only one or two mins. Kirby's Adventure is a game that keeps moving unless you are trying to get 100%.

In a few of these different levels (mostly toward the end of the game) are switches. These switches uncover other parts of the world maps that lead to mini-games where the player can earn extra lives, points, energy, and copy abilities. The switches are necessary for completing the game 100%. If you are able to find all the switches and get 100%, you unlock several extra games. All of which are a waste of time! One of those games is an Extra Game. The Extra Game is basically just the normal Kirby's Adventure, but Kirby only has 3 bars of health. He also cannot earn as many lives. Basically, this is just the Hard Mode of the game, and most players (including myself) would probably feel like it isn't worth the effort.

The switches are a nice extra feature to Kirby's Adventure, none the less. I like how they uncover mini-games that reward Kirby with extra lives and copy abilities. Most of them are pretty easy to get to with exception to one or two towards the end of the game. Kirby's Adventure is one game I can never consistently complete 100%. Those switches toward the end require Kirby to bring along a copy ability in order to get to them. This is hard to do without taking damage from enemies, losing the ability, and having to go back and do it all again.

The controls also feel off in this game. It suffers bad from input lag and slowdown when there are a lot of sprites on the screen. All of these issues can keep the gameplay of Kirby's Adventure from being as fun of an experience as it should be. The level design is unique and different, the copy abilities are cool, the switches are a nice extra, and the poor controls aren't too bad considering Kirby's large life bar. He can take up to 6 hits in this game! Despite its problems, I find Kirby's Adventure to be a fairly good game to play through. Even if I can't get 100%, I still enjoy it quite a bit.

Story 5/10: The story of Kirby's Adventure is more involved than that of Kirby's Dreamland. King Dedede has taken the Star Rod and broken it into 7 pieces. The Star Rod is the source of dreams for the people of Dreamland and without it, the people no longer have any dreams. Kirby notices this one night when he goes to sleep and doesn't dream. So, he sets out for the Fountain of Dreams, plans to get back the Star Rod, and place it back in the center of the fountain so the dreams will come back to Dreamland. The story of the game is explained in the game's intro.

There are some twists to this story. After Kirby defeats King Dedede and puts it back in the Fountain of Dreams, he releases a creature called Starnado. Kirby has to go to battle with him too. It turned out King Dedede might have been taken the Star Rod for a reason. I'm not really sure. Anyway, this plot is better than the one in the previous Kirby game. I don't understand it very well, so I don't know how I feel about it. It is pretty creative, and Nintendo was trying. However, I prefer the more simpler storylines of Mario and Sonic.

Content 9/10: The main part of Kirby's Adventure definitely had more content than what the previous Kirby game had. As mentioned before, it had 7 worlds: Vegetable Valley, Ice Cream Island, The Butter Building, Grape Garden, Yogurt Yard, The Orange Ocean, and The Rainbow Resort. Each world had its own overworld map, but these maps weren't part of a bigger map like in games like Super Mario World or Super Mario Land 2. The maps were very similar to the ones in Super Mario Bros. 3 and correspond well with the world's levels giving you an idea of what each one is going to be like.

Some of these levels even have switches that unlock extra content like mini-games where items and extra lives can be earned. These switches are necessary for completing the game 100% and unlocking the game's Hard Mode and other bonus games. For me, I only cared about playing the normal game with the switches. Just playing through normal mode takes over 2 hours to finish. Kirby's Adventure does have a fairly decent amount of fun content that will keep players busy for a while.

Difficulty 3/10: The poor controls and slowdown is a problem in Kirby's Adventure. However, Kirby has a pretty big life bar. He can take up to 6 hits in this game. With some practice, I rarely ever find myself dying in my playthroughs. Kirby can float over bottomless pits, he can take multiple hits from enemies, and can defend himself better with the new copy abilities. Not to mention how there are many opportunities for extra lives and unlimited continues. Kirby's Adventure isn't much more difficult than Kirby's Dreamland. This game is a little more involved, and it takes some trial/error on the boss fights but very little. For the most part, Kirby's Adventure is a fun and relaxing type of video game with optional challenge.

Overall 8.2/10: Kirby's Adventure is still quite an improvement over Kirby's Dreamland. It has way more content and is probably more fun to play because of the way Kirby can swallow his enemies and copy their abilities. Graphically, it is a great looking game for the NES, but the soundtrack is just okay. The plot isn't all that straightforward either. It's really the gameplay that makes this game shine. Kirby's Adventure isn't exactly perfect, and there are some issues with the controls. All things considered, this game is still good, but the remake on GBA was a better game.

It's round! It's pink! It's Kirby!   MitsuriZX
Welcome citizens of Vizzed! This is MitsuriZX with a never-ending dose of cuteness as we review Kirby's Adventure!
With me, my two friends, Luisa and Lucas!
Luisa : - Hi everyone!
Lucas : What's up?
Let's get on with it, shall we? Kirby's Adventure is the main Kirby game for the NES. When i say main, it's because if you're going to buy
a Kirby game for the NES, buy this one. It's a colorful side-scroller that even your 5-year baby can play without getting a game over!
In all seriousness, this game is easy as eating candy. You control our puffy and delicious hero Kirby in his quest to kill all living things!
Wait, he's still a hero? Yep. Seems legit...
Luisa : - By jumping and pressing Up, Kirby will inhale air and become all inflated, being able to float over enemies!
Lucas : - When you're in this state, pressing B or landing will make Kirby spit a little gust at enemies. You can use this to destroy
blocks if you don't have any kind of power!
Kirby has the special power to inhale enemies and copy their powers. Isn't that cannibalism? Let's hope not... moving on, the proper
use of copy abilities will lead you to finding secrets in stages, and they will make boss battles much easier. Just saying, all bosses
can be defeated without copy abilities, except the final boss, but then, you're forced to use copy abilities for that battle, so whatever.
Luisa : Taking a hit will make you lose your copy ability, but you can always get it back by inhaling it back when you see it bouncing away.
Lucas : - If you inhale two enemies at once, you get the mix ability, which is nothing more than a random ability! You can use this to get
abilities that would be impossible to get at the first parts of the game! Mix it!
Each world is composed of multiple stages. After finishing each stage, you get to play a mini-game in which you must press A with good
timing to get either extra points or an extra life. Between some stages, you also get the chance to enter a secret room where you can play even more mini-games for even more extra lifes. As long as you have extra lifes, you don't need to fear death! Not that death is scary, it's almost inexistent in this game.
Luisa : - If your copy ability falls in the water, it's gone forever. It's not like you need it for underwater exploration, you can still attack inside
water without any kind of copy ability.
Lucas : - And when you're in the ground, there is still one more reliable move you can use, which is the slide! Just hold down and press
your jump button! I've heard it looks cooler when you have a sword...
The soundtrack is catchy and the graphics are one of the greatest for a NES game. If you have never played a NES game before,
this might be your game. Sure, nowadays people only care about graphics, but after you play this game, you'll see what makes a
game good. It's not mind-blowing realism, it's not tech-breaking multiplayer, just simple gameplay with fun controls.
Thanks for reading our review, here, have some secrets!
Luisa : - Finishing the main game 100% will unlock the Extra Game, which is harder than usual. The story stays the same however.
Lucas : - And finishing the Extra Game 100% will unlock the sound test, so that you can hear all these catchy songs whenever you want to!
Until our next review!

The amazing game. :) (Staff review #9)   Stevie 764
A Kirby game that not only showed kirby's real color of pink, but also had lots of technology at the time of the year 1993 near the end of the NES time to make awesome music, lots of stages, and lots more. :)
Instructions: You play as the popular loved pink puff ball named Kirby, who travels through 6 worlds obtaining pieces of the shattered star rod to give dreams to dream land again. You start with 4 lives (mainly 5 of you count the 00 on the life counter) and can only take 6 hits before you die. You can gain extra lives from finding 1-up icons, and playing bonus games. This however resets back to 4 lives after resetting the game. You can have 99 lives cap, 9,999,990 points cap, and you can have several copy abilities to get from swallowing certain enemies. When you swallow enemies, you get abilities depending on what enemy you swallowed. The story is also explained in great detail if you wait on the title screen for a few moments.
Graphics - 8
Amazing NES graphics, I have to say. The backgrounds are well made and some interest me, such as the mountain background. The main part comes from sprites. They are all beyond perfect for NES limitations. The animations are great, too.
Sound - 10
Pretty much the best the NES can do for music. It is the music people back in the 2000's and late 1990's probably may have listen to as a Kirby fan. I don't know exactly about that. Too long back to think correctly.
Addictiveness - 10
This what a game would be, fun. But back in 1993, this was a hotseller for the Kirby series. It is very fun and if you ever find a copy now, they are rare to find since it was barely 19 years since it came out on NES. You can nowadays play it on vizzed here. (the link above this review where it says "Play Kirby's Adventure online") It is super fun and you should play it. You can also play it on the new Kirby game for the Wii, "Kirby's Dream Collection" which celebrates Kirby's 20th anniversary.
Depth - 7
It is a big game, however. Almost too long to play in one sitting, so there's a battery pack in the cartridge. It can die eventually in a few years of playing so hope it doesn't die out on a completed file. There are 5-7 stages in each world, and there's 6 worlds. It's big, and can take hours of non-stop play (estimated) to finish the game in one sitting.
Story - 8
I find the story to be nice. Gives great detail about how the story goes. The story is that the pieces of a star rod from the fountain of dreams was shattered in 6 pieces, which then gave Dream Land never-ending nightmares,  and now, Kirby has to get them back to free Dream Land from nightmares. Like I said, it is a nice story for those Kirby fans in the 90's.
Difficulty - 6
It isn't that hard, the controls don't cause the difficulty. In good and great games like this, challenge is always in the game itself. Some stages can be hard, especially the last 2 worlds in the game. The bosses are a little hard near the end, but there's patterns that can't be spoiled with what attacks used when.
Overall - 9.7
Very close to a 10, it is almost perfect. This game is recommended to everyone who has or hasn't heard of Kirby before. This is a great game that brought millions of people with the amazingness of music, graphics, and all the fun stuff there is. If you haven't played this game, hurry up and play it! It should keep you in.
(This has been a Stevie 764 review. Thanks for reading.)

Part 4 of my kirby spree.   RedHotToddy
As you guys should know, I have so far reviewed 3 Kirby games in the franchise so far, Kirby's dream land 1, Kirby's dream land 2, and Kirby's dream land 3, all for the SNES and Gameboy, Now Since those games are done, It is time to review the first Kirby game for the NES, Kirby's adventure, Let's get started shall we?
Story-7/10
The story of this game is that one day in the world of dream land, Kirby is coming back from his lunch in the outskirts of town, But then he discovers that his rival king dedede has broken the star rod of the fountain into 7 pieces! He gives 7 pieces to his friends, and he keeps on for himself, It is now up to Kirby to recover the star rod back in one piece!
Gameplay-8/10
The normal gameplay in this game plas much like previous Kirby installments, you guide our hero Kirby through big levels defeating and swallowing enemies, and most importantly, Getting through the entire level in once piece. Like all Kirby games starting with Kirby's dream land 2, each world is connected by a central hub, Each world has 2-5 levels, and after completing those levels you must fight a boss, the bosses arrange from things like trees, the sun and moon, etc. Once Kirby has defeated the boss, he can move onto the next world. Kirby will be collecting a bunch of items and goodies during his quest, Such as lollipops which give him invincibility, Kirby's with the word 1-up which will give him an extra life, etc. Anyways, that is the gameplay I guess, I don't have anymore stuff to say...
Graphics-9/10
This was Kirby's first adventure on the NES, and for what It is worth, It looks amazing! All the worlds and levels you will be exploring are big, cartoony, colorful, and bursting with atmosphere. As for the characters, they look pretty good as well! I mean, Kirby looks OK, King dedede looks good, and all of Kirby's friends and foes look good as well. The HUD Is pretty self explanatory, It shows you how much health you have until you die, How much lives you have left until you get game over, and your current power.
Sound-8/10
Kirby is no stranger to bright cheery and happy music, and this is no exception, Every song in each level really fits the mood of the level and sounds like something you would hear in Kirby. As for the sound effects, they are great as well, Theres sound effects for nearly everything, Entering a door, using a power, etc.
Addictiveness-7/10
Man, I remember playing this as a kid, and I really remember staying up all night playing this! The game is just that fun! I mean it has tons of fun, charm, and everything you expect from Kirby, But now in color! The game is just one of those games that you always will remember when you grow older and older.
Depth-7/10
The game is pretty long and offers a plenty of things to do, for one, the game is about 8 worlds long, so it will probably ally take you 2-3 hours to beat the whole game, and each HUB offers plenty of minigames to play, so the game is pretty filled with stuff to do if you ask me! But it is Kirby, so what to expect?
Difficulty-7/10
I'll be completely honest with you on this one, It was pretty hard at points! The most prime example is the fight against the sun and moon, they move too fast you don't even get time to react to their movements! But the rest of the game is easy, and I say a little.
Overall-8.5/10
For Kirby's first adventure on the NES, This was really fun! I can't wait to review the rest of the Kirby series! Heck, If I get some more time, then I might and I said I MIGHT review so Zelda, metroid, contra, etc. So anyways, this has been RedHotToddy, and If you have any games that you want me to review, just message me!

Kirby's Adventure   Totts
With Kirby Nintendo finds another ‘star’ to compete, quite literally, with Mario, only this star in the sky was created to also jump 'n' run in a fun responsive platformer, with his childish appearance appealing perhaps to a younger generation of players. Because Kirby is a ... pink, egg-shaped and very greedy little thing indeed, he cab only really be described as sweet and cute.
The original game idea is simply brilliant. In a true-Jump 'n' run you can stroll down with Kirby to rid the land of dreams of an evil visitation. Eight worlds to be addressed here, which in turn are further divided into several levels and bonus levels. Enemies are of course also present in each world. Kirby can jump side to turn into a flying air balloon and fly away so all sorts of obstacles and chasms. Therefore, the difficulty of Kirby's Adventure has fallen quite low. All Jump 'n' run difficult passages can be passed over in this capacity. And since Kirby tolerate five hits before he loses a life, and you very often new food to refresh the energy place, it is very difficult to die. Only the bosses make you lose health the first time and appoint you some losses. There are many bonus games, hidden extras and the ability to win on each level, jumping on the trampoline one lives, providing an inexhaustible supply of life. Another feature of Kirby is the ability to absorb his opponents. It makes Kirby's mouth wide and swallowed then the target object. This can then be eaten or spit on other opponents. Kirby himself opts for the latter, he will accept, if any, the special property of the enemy. This ability can not only make Kirby countless new things, but gives the game something special. Given the fact that many bonus levels need to be found and released, what one most often needs a particular property, eaten, the level design is very diverse. Thus, for example, Kirby can transform into a stone to flick any switches, breathe fire to ignite bombs, as a tire reach extremely high speeds or simply decide with a sword fights with all the lightness of its own. The player will be spoiled for choice in what capacity he provides Kirby. It must be mentioned here yet that lost at each enemy hit, the active property is in the form of a star for a short time buzzing around in the area and can be recaptured.
The game is very long and you can barely manage to finish it in an entire day. An automatic memory function does exist, however, for this situation, but it does not remember the exact number of lives you had. After each restart it starts again with four lives. For young players it is a fabulous game, but for older ones to it is certainly well worth taking a look at.

Kirby's (Awesome) Adventure   tyguy1141
Kirby. Some say he's a gumball. Some, a pink marshmallow. Some, a pink blob thingy. Nonetheless, Kirby's debut game, Kirby's Adventure for the NES, is pretty great.
Graphics:  Kirby's Adventure has great graphics compared to NES classics, like Super Mario Bros. The colors are vibrant, ranging from bright, warm colors, like a multitude of yellows and pinks, to dark, cool colors, like royal blue. There are few graphic glitches in the game, and the animations are very smooth.
Sound:  Kirby's Adventure has addicting music compared to other NES games, like Friday the 13th. The music in Kirby's Adventure is so good, in fact, that other games, such as the Super Smash Bros. Series, have re-used it. There are virtually no sound glitches in the Kirby's Adventure, and the sounds don't interfere with other aspects of the game.
Addictiveness:  Kirby's Adventure keeps you on the edge of your seat, with a wide variety of enemies, the ability to absorb enemies, and intense boss battles.
Depth: Kirby's Adventure spans over 8 worlds, most, if not all of them having 6 or 7 levels, along with a maximum of 2 mini-games per world. Once you beat the last boss, you're not completely done. You may be thinking, "Is this game kinda like The Legend of Zelda, where you have a second quest?" To that I say no. You can replay the mini-games on different difficulties, and there is a Vs. Boss mode, where you must beat all 8 bosses in a row with just one life. The game itself takes a while to beat, mainly because of it's difficulty.
Difficulty: This game is hard mostly because of the last boss. You have to beat the last boss in a certain amount of time, or the screen closes in on you and you lose. This makes it difficult (and irritating at times) to beat the game.
Overall Rating: 9.3
Enjoy the game!

Kirby's Adventure review!   G@mehe@d
INTRODUCTION: Kirby's adventure was released for the NES in 1993 and had 6 megabits of data. The game is a major step up to it's predecessor, Kirby's Dream Land and introduced Kirby's signature pink color and his copy ability.
STORY: The story is simple but creative. King Dedede stole the dream rod. The main source for dreams. Once the dream rod was removed all the residents of dream land started to have nightmares. Kirby, a round, pink creature. Went out to retrieve the dream rod and put it back in it's place.
GRAPHICS: By 1993 the technology for game making got more advanced. So this means programmers and game designers can use the NES'es capabilities to the max. Nintendo and HAL laboratory's managed to push out some graphic techniques that were used in the 16- bit games on to the NES. Such as parallax scrolling and more crisp visuals. The visuals do have their limitations though. When a lot of objects are in a screen you will start to notice A LOT of slow down in the game.
SOUND: The music is upbeat and energetic. A lot of songs for different levels, and the soundtrack is complex.
ADDICTIVENESS: It's hard to get off this game. With so many levels and a wide variety of things to do. You will have a hard time getting off.
DEPTH: There are 7 "levels" there really worlds in my mind. Each with 6 big levels and a boss. Each world unlocks neat things like mini games and other random doors. The game has 6 Megs of information making it one of the biggest games on the NES.
DIFFICULTY: I found this game slightly harder than its predecessor. Mainly because there are more enemies and more complex level designs. The game is still very easy and the younger players will especially like the game.
OVERALL RATING 8.8

Kirby's Adventure - Greatness in a Cartridge   mega man221
This is my review for the great game - Kirby's Adventure! This game is a total classic and deserves every good rating it gets.
Graphics: 9 The graphics in this game are extremely impressive. They surpass basic and even good and great standards. All animation feels fluent and the characters, background, etc. Are all detailed. There is a 3 dimensional feel to the game that makes it more realistic. While this is the worst rating in the game you have to remember Castlevania, which had better graphics than some SNES games. And remember, It's still a 9, right?
Sound: 10. The music is absolutely outstanding. Many games take an epic approach or maybe an action packed one when it came to music. Kirby on the other hand, took things to the next level. They kept some epic music but had more of an upbeat feel to most of the game. All the other songs were slow, calming and soft, but still maintained setting the standard, which is quite remarkable.
Addictiveness: 10. I am incredibly proud of how this game was built. This game has an extremely high replay value. The game play was outstanding. Yes,it is a platformer but a great platformer nonetheless. It is full of fun minigames,  minibosses, great levels, and a great load of fun.
Story: 10. The premise of the game is nothing any of us would expect. King Dedede has stolen the Dream Rod, an item that gives everyone in Dreamland dreams. While pretty much everyone thought that Dedede was using it for his own advantage, he actually takes it from Nightmare an evil overlord who generates nightmares. So Dedede thinks: either bad dreams or none and decides to take the Dream Rod, break it to pieces and give those pieces to his 7 friends: Whispy Woods a tree with a face, Paint Roller a painter on roller skates, Mr. Bright a sun with a face, Mr. Shine a moon with a face ( Mr. Bright and Mr. Shine work together.), Kracko a spiked cloud with an eye, Digger Mole a digging robot, and Meta Knight the greatest knight who ever lived. So a great story indeed.
Depth: 10. This game has a ton of different things to offer. There are great surprises, extras topping of tons of fun levels bosses and more! Aside from that this was one of the few NES games to support saving. The Famicom might have done that, but it is very uncommon for an NES platformer to have save files. All these great features to go through and then to top it off an epic finale with Nightmare. A true icing on the cake. A great big sweet cake.
Difficulty: 2. The difficulty really isn't a rating that says whether or not a game is good or bad. This game is a perfect example of that. It was intended to be this easy making the game great. There was a time when I was horrible at games and Kirby was my first resort so this franchise was really some help for me. This is my first Kirby game so it is really special to me.
So overall there are a lot of good things about Kirby's Adventure so I think that because of every single thing they did in this fantastic game it deserves a great big 9.9!

Kirby's Adventure NES   billythekidmons..
Kirby’s Adventure may not have been the first Kirby game in Nintendo’s long running franchise of largely successful games but it is a cornerstone of the series. Kirby’s Adventure is one of the key games in the NES library. It mixes platforming as well as some other elements such as action. Unlike other games where it is all laid out for you immediately Kirby’s Adventure is different in the sense that you more or less choose the way you want to play. All in all Kirby’s Adventure is a classic.
Kirby was a late NES game. This might explain why the game still looks beautiful today. By the time this game was released programmers knew how to make their games look good and this is a full example of that. Kirby’s sprite is bright and vivid, as well as the backgrounds actually look like they are back there, and there is actually something back there. I appreciate that because in many games of that time backgrounds were typically overlooked and there was just blue sky. This is not the case in Kirby as you have a space background, a grass background, as well as many others. The game looks great. Enemies have the same level of detail as Kirby and so do the environments. There are sandy pyramids, forest like jungles, and weird creative wonderlands. When the foreground and background meet in this game it is something of awe. I love how this game looks and would go as far to say the best looking game on the NES by far.
But does the game control as good as it looks? More importantly is what you are controlling worth doing so? I have to answer a big yes on both of those. Unlike most NES games this game does not have that tight feeling that feels like it is constricting movements pixel by pixel. With Kirby you feel like you have complete control as well as he has a floatsy feeling. This makes sense as you can fly with Kirby by simply holding down the up button. This and eating monsters for powers is one of the key staples of the franchise that was introduced in this game. Eating monsters is easily one of the best parts about this game as a whole. This gives you a lot of freedom to play it more or less your own way. If you want to turn the game into a side scrolling shooter you can go right ahead and do so. If you want to play it without any of the sucking up or things of that nature then you have that option as well. If you do this you will be missing out on a main point of the game. Really the game wants you to enjoy yourself and that is what this offers you. Oh and you can go left. This may not seem like a big deal but this opens up a lot more opportunities. That you would not have had if you were stuck going right. Many times I will go back to get to a secret area or to grab a power that I know is back there or something of that sort. And I must say that it really increases the game play as you can go all over the place as you please.
The game is flat out addictive. This is the last game that I have played in a while that I actually had fun playing. Don’t get me wrong I play games for fun but this one seems to stand out to me. I think this has to do with the fact that levels are fast. You could finish some of the levels in the first world in about 30 seconds, not speed running. This means that you can get through worlds pretty fast but the game still feels like it has quite a lot of meat on the bone. I think that this is partly due to the fact that the game has a nice little hub menu. This is where you choose levels as well as play fun little mini games for extra lives or to heal. There is also some spots that give you different powers pretty much for free. These keep the game feeling a little more modern as you can play it at your pace. Also if you liked a level a lot you can go ahead and play it again. The fun factor still keeps me coming back and I have already beaten the game a few times.
This game is also really deep yet really simple. By this I mean you may thing that just because the game has a few monsters that you can suck up that it is going to be shallow but that is not the case. Play style is everything in this game. So much so that going back through with a weird power through some levels will make it feel like an entirely different stage, or in some rare cases a different game. With all of the powers to choose from you will never be at a loss of what you want. The other fun thing that increases this games depth is multiple paths. This is not a huge deal as it does not affect the next level but it is still fun to see a door that is below you find a way to get there and snatch a 1-UP. It is a very satisfying feeling.
The game sounds absolutely fantastic. This is some of the best 8 bit music that I have ever heard. The thing is that it barley sounds 8 bit it sounds almost better. These songs are still in many of the Kirby games today and I can see why. They are just happy melodies that only a scrooge would not enjoy. The dyeing theme is worth hearing though you will actually rarely die. The other great part is the music during the dancing Kirby’s theme. You will fall in love with each of the tunes that play during each level and not once will you want to shut the music off or even turn it down. I can not come up with a better example of how good music can fit with a game besides this game. The game is floatsy fun and so is the music. It just makes sense, it is like a heavy metal band playing heavy metal, and if they didn’t then they would suck as a band. You the music that is played in this game, I guarantee you that.
The one thing that I would normally bash about these kinds of games is if it is too easy. That is strange because I actually do not have a problem with the difficulty of this game. I love the fact that it is so easy to pick up and play. It all just makes sense. The fun music, fun game play, fun to pick up and play, it could not be any other way. The game being really easy adds to the game so much, because if it was hard it just would not make sense. I would not like it because it would be this friendly game on all fronts that is beating me up for having fun. This game wants you to have fun and the difficulty shows it.
Well believe it or not but this is my first perfect score for a game. I do not give this out often but the game is just too fun not to play. I have no problems with the game on any fronts and honestly it is as close to perfect as you can get.
Graphics: 10 - This game is looking great still even after the many years after it’s release. One of the few games that really showed what the ageing hardware, the NES, could do. This game puts other NES games that were made at the same time to shame.
Sound: 10 - The game sounds like it looks and plays: full of fun and full of life. One of the best soundtracks I have ever heard and it fits the game well. Easily the best music I have heard on the NES.
Addictiveness: 10 – With so much to do and so much fun to be had you will be playing this one for years. Not because you can not beat it but more because it is so much fun.
Depth: 10 – The game may seem like a normal platformer from a glance but I assure you that it is not. It is a definitive title in the NES library that has a lot more up its sleeve then it is willing to show.
Difficulty: 10 – The difficulty is just right. Yet the game is easy. Yet it could not fit this type of game any better. I enjoy the game difficulty and humbly accept the few cases I die because I was having too much fun and lost track of my goal. Perfect.
Overall: 10 – Best NES platformer I have ever played. I know that many will say that Super Mario Bros 3 is better but I disagree this is the best I have played on the system and I love every aspect of it. The game could not be any better in any way. This is not an easy score to get from me.

Kirby's Adventure Review
   By: VizzedGuy111
   Introduction
First you draw a circle, then you dot the eyes, add a great big smile, and presto, it's Kirby!  That's right I'm going to review Kirby's Adventure for the Nintendo Entertainment System released in 1993 and the 2nd installment of the Kirby series. This game improved over the first installment in quite many ways. I played this game before and I have to admit, it's pretty good. This game is a platformer like Mario but is different in how the game plays. Anyway, lets suck to the review!
   Graphics 6/10
I give the graphics a good amount of rating due to being in the NES.   The intro has Kirby looking good plus there are also pictures of Kirby looking good too. Well,at least if you are probably a kid from the 1980s or 1990s, you weren't  annoyed from the graphics, but since I wasn't born from that time, I still find the graphics good. The graphics kind of remind me of one Mega Man cut scene from the NES and it was good. However, the graphics while you're playing are a meh. So, I give the graphics a 6/10 rating.
   Sound 5/10
For the sound for Kirby's Adventure, I fend them okay. I mean it is from the NES, so you could say you probably will hear the nostalgic 8-bit sound. I wouldn't say much for the music, but at least it's okay!  I give the sound a half out of 10 rating. (5/10)
   Addictiveness 8/10
The addictiveness is actually great! Not only you just play the levels of the game, but you can also go to some doors that contain minigames, but I'm not going to spoil them for you. There is also the score so you can compete who has the best score, so you may play the game many times. You can also try to get 100%, meaning you can complete the ENTIRE game. Anyway, I give the addictiveness a good 8/10 rating!
   Story 6/10
The story is kind of great, but at least it isn't a Mario thing kind of story, in which the story is the same. However, let me tell you the story. In Dream Land there is a rod called the Star Rod in which dreams and hope are fueled by them. However, the antagonist, King Dedede, broke the Star Rod and gave the pieces to his friends. So, the hero, Kirby, must restore the pieces and restore the Star Rod. I give the story a 6/10 rating.
   Depth 7/10
The depth is really hard to explain since I already told you about the addictiveness, but I'll try my best to tell you about the depth. You basically have the story, you have the mini games, and there's also more content to be explored. Anyway, I would love to tell you more, but I don't want to spoil the game.
   Difficulty 5/10
The difficulty isn't really that hard, but instead frustrating. Well at least you won't probably worry about gaps and high platforms, but you have to worry about the enemies, and the level. There are enemies that can be annoying since they can remove your powers by one hit and the level itself since it can have some tricks. So I give the difficulty a half out of 10. (5/10)
   Overall 8/10
Honestly, I give the game a 8/10. This game is quite good for the NES and you should play it. It  is a platformer like I told you and if you like copying your enemies' powers you should play the game. So, if you never play this game, play Kirby's Adventure!

Kirby's Greatest "Adventure" Ever!   acam
This game is considered a major turning point in the Kirby Series. This is probabnly due to the many "firsts" that the game achieved. Some of these include: Worldwide knowledge of Kirby's pink coloration, introduction of Copy Abilities, as well as the first appearances of Meta Knight and Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright. I could go on and on about the features of which this game pioneered, but it's probably best that I get on to the review.
The graphics are a 10 due to these being some of the best graphics that I have ever seen. There is lots of detail in the foreground as well as the background of the game's stages. The sound's a 8 due to the awesome music in the game (strangely, not including King DeDeDe's well-known theme). Addictiveness is a 10 due to its myriad of things to do, as well as its fun factor that will keep you playing for hours. The story's a 10 because it does what it is meant to do: be short and sweet, but advance the game along. Essentially, the story is this: The Dream Landers cannot dream because The Dream Spring that allows dreams to be dreamt is without its power source: the Star Rod. King DeDeDe broke it into 6 peices and gave them to his underlings (who also function as bosses of levels), and Kirby tries to retrieve the peices. Depth is a 10 due to the many secret passages to find in the game as well as 4 game-exclusive sub-games. The difficulty is a 3 due to the fact that this game is actually (in my opinion) is easier than the previous game, Kirby's Dream Land.

Kirby's adventure   minorman4
Kirby's adventure is a fun and addicting game. I am most probably go back and try to get further in the story. The little pink puff ball is great for little children and old retro gamers. I haven't gotten so far but I can say, this would be a great game to continue. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone who has a nes or has a wii. It is a game which will give a nice smile to you and with all the great power ups, there is a lot you can do with it.It is also Easy at the beginning so you will learn the ropes straight away then use those skills later when most important. The sum up: It is a fun and addicting game, and is great for introducing people to Nintendo and or gaming. This defiantly deserves 10/10

The sound is a 8 the music pretty good. Addictiveness is a 7 because I could play it again if I want to. If you wait after the game tells you the controls it tells you about the story.the depth is a 4  I could beat this game 1 to 2 days it isn't that long game at all. The difficulty is a 4 because if you wait on the main menu for 30 seconds it tells you the controls.overall I give this game a 9.5 this was kami2234 I hope you enjoy the review

The pink puffballs beginning   kirbyluver4life
The graphics could have been better, but for nes Kirby's graphics were great, and like all other Kirby games Kirby's adventure had very bright and cheerful colours. The backgrounds are very nice too, ranging from a deep forest to a sandy beach, even high in the sky, the backgrounds also moved along with Kirby very accurately, which gives a great sense of realism. The enemy's were equal with Kirby's quality and even though you have to KO them they're still kind of cute. Bestly though are the sub-bosses and actual bosses, with less cheerful colours but remaining still visible and having many sprites it is very fun just to be in the boss battle watching their attacks. Overall the graphics are bright and cheery even during the boss fights and could not scare a 2-year old girl.
The sounds are very fitting from the sound of a waddle doo's beam to Kirby slashing his sword all the noises fit very well, but noises are just the beginning. The music in Kirby was plain amazing in NES standards, from the cheerful music of vegetable valley the music could relieve you after being victim of a scary pop-up. But it's not always cheery, during boss battles and the menacing battles against the Meta knight's the music always fits perfectly, but don't worry about being scared, you should know Kirby games never scare anyone, while still fitting the scenario that is.
Early Kirby games weren't exactly what you would call addicting, although the Kirby franchise has always been replayable Kirby's adventure just doesn't fit today's standards. I'm not saying Kirby games aren't good or addicting, it's just with the old NES system isn't exactly high quality and although you may come back Kirby's adventure is just not an addicting game as much as some others like SMB, even so you should still give it a try, since it's suitable for anyone and everyone.
The story isn't specified very well but the basic Idea is King Dedede has stolen the star wand and broke into 7 pieces, 5 for
a powerful demon beast in each world, one for his highly trusted servant Meta knight and one for himself. It's up to you (Kirby) to beat the demon beast, Meta Knight, and king Dedede himself in order to restore peaceful dreams to dreamland. That's all, not much even for a Kirby game, but hey, what story was much good in the NES games anyways?
Kirby's adventure is much longer than Kirby's Dreamland, which consist of only three worlds and a final boss, but Kirby's
adventure consist of SEVEN worlds and a final boss, much longer than Kirby's dreamland, although it's not necessarily long in game standards, as some levels in world 1 can be cleared in under a minute without a speed run, but the game consist of four levels and a boss each world MINIMUM. It's not very long compared to some other games, but it will keep you playing for a while. Bestly though is the hub, which you can explore and walk around in and replay different levels looking for secrets and along through the game are a few fun mini games to play for prizes like extra points or 1-ups. The last thing in this section are abilities, there is a variety of ability's to choose from and you need certain abilities tom go to different areas. You can also play in your own way, if you want good power than you can go for the short ranged sword, and if you want to keep your distances than you can choose laser. This was a first in games and another reason why you should really give Kirby's adventure a shot.
Kirby as you know is very child friendly right? So you shouldn't expect this to be much of a challenge, it's fairly easy with a very slow learning curve that gives you plenty of time to adjust to the ever-so slowly difficulty ramp. Kirby's adventure is a very, VERY easy game, while still showing a needed effort, but hey, what would you expect from a Kirby game? Still, the Kirby games aren't that easy and still give you a challenge in the later areas, so if you want a challenge but want a good amount of time to adjust you should give Kirby's adventure a try.
Overall Kirby is bright and cheery, with great noises and music while still remaining tense at the right times, it's not too addictive but you still might come back even though it's not got much of a story. It's fairly long compared to Kirby's dreamland while not taking as long as a Zelda game, in total Kirby's dreamland is a great game for all people of all ages. However if you're looking for a bit more of a challenge than head over to Super Mario Brothers or Pokémon, but it's a good game even so and even if it's a bit easy you should still give it a try.

Kirby's Adventure (NES) Review Version   LukeHayesII
This is a very addictive game, since you're playing to what seems to me like a children's game, but I've heard most adults play it, the game does offer a lot, long missions, bonus missions, the graphics are actually good, since I rate the older games with 8-bit graphics better than now higher, also as I said before, it does look like a children's game, but it actually quite hard, but that's possibly what most of the Kirby games like, simple, but tricky, it also is quite funny since, you can eat the enemies, and spit them out, to destroy others, and I like the fact that you can float around, but sadly, you need to spit them out to fly.

Extra Mode: Find all switches hidden in normal stages and beat the final boss to unlock Extra Mode. Extra Mode challenges you to beat the whole game with half your lifebar and in a single run.
TIP: When you complete a stage, pay attention to it's door. If it's still orange, a switch is hidden somewhere there! Try to use different abilities on different walls, and look for black spots or other strange background elements to find them.

Save features weren't always built into games back then because of the cost involved to have a built in batter backup which is what those roms required to do so.

This game is very long like the Wii version but one question Nintendo. Why is there no save feature? Overall it's a good game.
