Here we go we are going on a tornado adventure with me tornadocam. Only kidding we are going to be reviewing Kirby's Adventure.

Story: 9
The story in Kirby's Adventure is fairly simple. The residents of dreamland often take napes to sleep and dream. One day Kirby wakes up as he is not able to fall asleep. The dreams are caught in the dream fountain which helps people in dreamland sleep. Kirby thinks there is something wrong in the fountain of dreams were the star rod is kept. Kirby sees King Dedede swimming in the fountain. Kirby ask him what he had done with the star rod. The king tells Kirby that he broke it up into 6 pieces and gave it to some friends. King Dedede tries to tell Kirby why but Kirby has none of it. He sets on an adventure to reclaim the star rod. Okay the plot in this game was pretty simple.  Basically, Kirby has to go through 7 worlds to save dreamland. I kind of like how this introduces players to Kirby games. For those that do not know Dreamland is were Kirby lives. It is also were most of the action in his games take place. So it was nice that Hal Labs who made this game got creative to introduce players to Kirby games. There is also something else I really like how right at the end of the last world there is a plot twists to this game. A new plot takes place. I will not be spoiler here but I will give a hint King Dedede is now what he seems and is not that evil. Okay back to the plot. I really like it when games throw a plot twist at the end or during the middle of the game. It kind of adds suspense and keeps the player from thinking they have it all figured out. This was a great game that had a good basic plot and had a plot twist later in the game.

Graphics: 10
The Graphics in this game rocked for it to be an 8 bit game. I really like the backgrounds and colors in this game. The first world is a forest level and the trees make one think they are actually in a forest beating up the bad guys. The second level is an island. I really like how the water looks in this game it looks like a 16 bit graphical representation of water. The graphics really shine after world 4. The world 4 is a garden theme it really is nice how it makes the player think they are playing in a garden in the clouds. The fifth world is a mountain level. Level 6 is an orange ocean level and the graphics are terrific. I really like how in the later two worlds how the constellations in the ice stages really shine in the background. The ice glows and so do the stars in the background which is a nice touch. It makes me feel relaxed while playing the ice stages, which is good because they are often tricky. The sprints in this game are also good especially when Kirby has a weapon. The enemies sprints are nice too and they are fun to watch after getting their powers. The controls in this game are very awesome. Kirby looks to be very smooth. There is no lag in this game even at the very end of the game I thought there would be a lag because most levels of that kind there usually is on 8 bit systems. But there wasn't.  Kirby's Adventures really had some awesome graphics, and controls.

Sound: 10
Kirby's Adventure really shined on sound. This game has a lot of sound tracks as most Kirby games do. Each world has its own theme but in the worlds the stages have different themes. My favorites are the Garden level's music, the Ice levels music they sound so relaxing and peaceful. The other sound tracks in this game also are good. The enemies have different sounds depending on their powers. The tornado enemy sounds like a tornado, the rock enemies when they land make a loud sound, the spark enemies should like electricity. Kirby can have different sounds depending on the weapon he posses. To be honest, I can compare this sound to some of the Mega Man games I have played. Mega Man is known for having good sound tracks and awesome sounds. Kirby's adventure is like the Mega Man games awesome music, sound and enemy sounds.  What I also like is for this to be an 8 bit system the sounds do not tingle. The sounds in this game sound like a 16 bit system.

Addictiveness and Depth: 9
Kirby's Adventure really had good replay value. I liked this game because of the plot twist at the end, the good graphics and sound. This game was fun to play when it first came out. Guess what it is still fun to play now. I really enjoyed this game. The game also has huge depth. Now the levels might not be too long but they make up for it. There are a lot of secrets to unlock in this area. Secrets will need to be unlocked to open bonus games. Their are switches in a lot of levels the player will need to find them to unlock the bonus games. The game has a lot of weapons the player can get. I often find it is fun to play through the game with a different weapon so that adds depth. I like games were you have a lot of weapon choices to play through the game with, it is just that fun. Now there is one thing that keeps the depth rating from being a perfect 10 out of 10. This is a moderate long game. Some of the worlds only have 4 stages and some have 6. They are only 7 worlds. I wish games this fun had longer levels. I know I said they made up for it with the secrets, but still they could have thrown in more stages. As I stated the game is not too long so players that are decent can probably clear this game in a couple of hours.

Difficulty:6
Here is were Kirby's Adventure suffers the game is not to bad difficulty wise. They are some tricky spots sometimes when Kirby flies an enemy can drop down and knock you out of the sky. There are some pits that it is better not to use special weapons or otherwise you will fall into the pits. The last 3 worlds is were the game can be difficult due to their bosses and a lot of them levels have ice in them. Some of the secrets in the latter stages require certain weapons, creativity, timing and skill to get. So that adds some difficulty. Meta Knight the boss in level 6 is the boss that gave me the most trouble in this game. The final boss hint it is not King Dedede game me some trouble. Other than those areas this game was not difficulty at all. I was hoping it would be more difficult, simply because I am a guy that likes to be challenged. Last time I played this I do not think I lost a live till World 6 maybe. I could have lost one in World 4 but I remember dying a few times in World 6. So not to bad. The enemy placement is numerous but if you have a weapon that is not trouble at all. I wonder if Kirby's Adventure was maybe rushed a little bit. Thus, I can only give this game a moderate difficulty rating.

Overall: 9.3
At the end of the difficulty section I said I wondered if Kirby might not have been rushed a little bit. The reason is because this game along with Mega Man 6 were some of the last games to come out for the NES. The NES was way past its peak when Kirby came out in late 1993. So maybe Hal Labs wanted to get this game out before the NES was discontinued and that is why there were not that many stages and it was not that hard of a game. Kirby's Adventure is credited with starting Kirby's popularity in the game world. Still, this is a very fun game that I had playing. I remember getting this game for Christmas and I played it a lot. Kirby's Adventure is a fun game due to all the weapons you can have, the graphics, and the music. I really liked the music in this game especially in the ice levels. Kirby's Adventure is a fun game for everybody regardless of your age. I played this game I want to think when I was 8 maybe 9. Here I am in my late 20's and I still like to go back and play this game. I would highly recommend playing this game.
