As you guys should know, I have so far reviewed 3 Kirby games in the franchise so far, Kirby's dream land 1, Kirby's dream land 2, and Kirby's dream land 3, all for the SNES and Gameboy, Now Since those games are done, It is time to review the first Kirby game for the NES, Kirby's adventure, Let's get started shall we?
Story-7/10 The story of this game is that one day in the world of dream land, Kirby is coming back from his lunch in the outskirts of town, But then he discovers that his rival king dedede has broken the star rod of the fountain into 7 pieces! He gives 7 pieces to his friends, and he keeps on for himself, It is now up to Kirby to recover the star rod back in one piece!
Gameplay-8/10 The normal gameplay in this game plas much like previous Kirby installments, you guide our hero Kirby through big levels defeating and swallowing enemies, and most importantly, Getting through the entire level in once piece. Like all Kirby games starting with Kirby's dream land 2, each world is connected by a central hub, Each world has 2-5 levels, and after completing those levels you must fight a boss, the bosses arrange from things like trees, the sun and moon, etc. Once Kirby has defeated the boss, he can move onto the next world. Kirby will be collecting a bunch of items and goodies during his quest, Such as lollipops which give him invincibility, Kirby's with the word 1-up which will give him an extra life, etc. Anyways, that is the gameplay I guess, I don't have anymore stuff to say...
Graphics-9/10 This was Kirby's first adventure on the NES, and for what It is worth, It looks amazing! All the worlds and levels you will be exploring are big, cartoony, colorful, and bursting with atmosphere. As for the characters, they look pretty good as well! I mean, Kirby looks OK, King dedede looks good, and all of Kirby's friends and foes look good as well. The HUD Is pretty self explanatory, It shows you how much health you have until you die, How much lives you have left until you get game over, and your current power.
Sound-8/10 Kirby is no stranger to bright cheery and happy music, and this is no exception, Every song in each level really fits the mood of the level and sounds like something you would hear in Kirby. As for the sound effects, they are great as well, Theres sound effects for nearly everything, Entering a door, using a power, etc.
Addictiveness-7/10 Man, I remember playing this as a kid, and I really remember staying up all night playing this! The game is just that fun! I mean it has tons of fun, charm, and everything you expect from Kirby, But now in color! The game is just one of those games that you always will remember when you grow older and older.
Depth-7/10 The game is pretty long and offers a plenty of things to do, for one, the game is about 8 worlds long, so it will probably ally take you 2-3 hours to beat the whole game, and each HUB offers plenty of minigames to play, so the game is pretty filled with stuff to do if you ask me! But it is Kirby, so what to expect?
Difficulty-7/10 I'll be completely honest with you on this one, It was pretty hard at points! The most prime example is the fight against the sun and moon, they move too fast you don't even get time to react to their movements! But the rest of the game is easy, and I say a little.
Overall-8.5/10 For Kirby's first adventure on the NES, This was really fun! I can't wait to review the rest of the Kirby series! Heck, If I get some more time, then I might and I said I MIGHT review so Zelda, metroid, contra, etc. So anyways, this has been RedHotToddy, and If you have any games that you want me to review, just message me!
