I've been meaning to make the Newbie power level for a while but kept putting it off to the side. Well because of things that happened today (a new user posted gay porn pictures in newbie forum), I decided that it's about time I implement them. Here's a list of all the changes I made to user power levels today:

Newbie Power Level - This is what you are when you sign up. You have all the basic priveleges and can post in most forums but you have a few limitations; here are the limitations:
-Name is not bold which helps separate active users from non-active users
-Cannot post pictures or upload them
-Cannot post clickable links
-Cannot post any form of html
-Can only make 1 thread per a day
-Can only send 10 PMs per a day
I'll probably add more limitations if more problems arise with newbies
A user is a Newbie until they get at least 10 posts and have been a member for atleast a week

Italic Usernames:
If a user has 25 or more posts for the day their name becomes italicized. This resets once the day is over. Note that it will not go into affect for everyone until this day ends, it only works for me because the field responsible for keeping track started at 0 an hour or so ago and I edited the field so that I'd be at 25 (now if someone made 25 posts between an hour ago and the end of the day, they'd get it but either way, you'll get it every day after today for just getting a total of 25 posts for that day).

A few changes to Trusted powerlevel:
I've now made it so that you become a Trusted user once you've received 5 Trust Points. However, instead of losing the position when you go below 5 trust points, you still only lose it when you go below 3 Trust Points. This will help reduce the situation where a user goes back and forth from trusted to non-trusted (since before a single point could determine whether you were trusted or not, now it takes 3 points to determine it).

EDIT: Turned RGR Staff into Site Staff:
Since I'll have other jobs for users in the future, I made the RGR Staff powerlevel into Site Staff since it'd be silly to make a new power level for each new position, easier to just use a single powerlevel for all of them.

Edit2: Banned users probation:
When a user that isn't trusted gets banned, they will be set to 'newbie' power level for a day after getting unbanned, sort of like a probation.


I'm sure there's going to be a few bugs around the board from the changes so if anyone notices any problems, please report them.

Actually 2 of them recently. 1 with the gay porn pictures and another with a hentai display picture. I've had problems in the past with a few newbies as well. A few mass advertised via PMs and another posted gay porn pictures (yeah we've had 2 people do this now, really sick).

Great! I have always wanted the newbie powerlevel and the 5 points to be trusted!

Oh, and I like this whole "bold" thing to distinguish people. Apparently I'm an active user. Yay! lol.

I've noticed that the Positions in the user displays are still messed up. It ups everyones positions. Reg members are said to be trusted and trusted are said to be elite. I got kind of excited for a moment when I saw my position lol

Zamiel: Where do you see this problem?

Under the user pics. It says that my position is Elite.

I like the new didstinction. Sometimes I would see a name that I thought I had seen before, but then it would turn out to be a new user, and it was a bit annoying at times.

EDIT: I also see Elite underneath my name, insead of Trusted.

Zamiel you got to earn that, not just recieve it by fault. Come on man, it feels better when you recieve anything in life that way.

Any ways, I like the whole idea of this David, it'll make some people stand out in different ways.

I also made it so that when you get unbanned from a ban, you go to a 'Newbie' powerlevel until that day ends (kinda like probation). If you had 5 trust points or more before getting banned, you would go back to being trusted when unbanned.

wow this is actualy pretty cool didn't really expect it though lol good thing im not a newbie.

I like this idea, its pretty cool. um one note though. right now theres boxes under our pictures where normally post count and stuffs are usually Nevermind. fixed.

One question... Do RTR and RGR Staff now get to see the Staff Forum? Or is that still restricted to them

The RGR forum will be renamed to Site Staff most likely and they will probably share a forum.

So... the mods and the site staff will share a forum?
