A better idea possibly to what Bigbob is saying is that each slot in the accessories shop could have a item count, like the slots that the stock is in, if you buy another, it would than say "Stock x 2"

I do want to have a major update to the item shop one of these days, which would include buying, selling and trading with other users, allowing you to own more than 1 item in all the shops and choosing which to equip, etc. Adding side-kick functionality, and ultimately, making the items appear next to user names in the posts.

While your at it, how about a more active and relevant depiction of activity... Real time stock prices...

Ill jes make on up randomly... Assuming that BASE stock price is 200 Viz...
Keeping in mind this would all be based on variables and would have to relate to a time frame based within the last 24 hours, and one week ago 24 hours..

Something like this...

200 + (Posts In Last 24Hr's [real time]/Active Users in Last 30 Days*Active Users in Last 24Hr's [real time]) - (7 Days Ago Post In Last 24 Hr's [real time]/Active Users in Last 30 Days*7 Days Ago Active Users in Last 24Hr's)

So... it might go something like this...

200+((243/76*14)-(364/84*17))
200+(44.76)-(73.66)
200-28.9
171.1
Stock Price Would Equal: 171.1

This works by doing 3 things...
BASE STOCK PRICE + Current Activity - Not Current Activity
As the week before was MORE active than the current, its reflected by lowering the stock price (the 28.9 is a negative created by fulfilling those brackets)

Ill do it again, but reverse those numbers.
200+((364/84*17))-(243/76*14)
200+(73.66)-(44.76)
200+28.9
228.9
Stock Price Would Equal : 228.9

See how it works? Well... thats MY idea...

But it could be a good way to get a good number, but we'll brain storm other possibilities first.

Im sure i could simplify it, but itd be more effective if brad developed a test page of the code, so you could over time see the generation of numbers... I mean, real time stocks markets change... all day dont they? And only stop at night when all the investors and brokers go.. least thats what i though... so.. yeah

Or you could possibly just do it by daily updates.

For example, using the 200 Viz minimum,

200 + (Active users that day) - (non-active users that day)

That way at least those who owned stock would log in at least once a day to try and get the stock up as high as possible. Obviously has some tweaking due to the large number of users, most of which haven't logged on in ages, but that general idea is a good one, IceWave.

It cant relate to todays posts (eg, posts in the last 24 hours) becuase someone can buy stocks, spam like crazy, then sell stocks.

They should have to wait to get there money .

Pretty much never these days. Maybe this should be closed, unless someone is going to do the stocks again?

I would do it if I knew how it was supposed to work. It's been so long since the stock market even ran that I have no idea how it works here.

How do you sell a stock?

When you are in the item shop, go to accessories, and then click on the stock to sell it. You will get 75% back.
