hello guys, ive been thinking about making a pokemon hack myself but I realized I know virtually nothing about it, if anyone could send me a video step by step guide for dummies I would greatly appreciate it and will return the favor whenever possible thanks

XHero111 : I am doing some mapping, I already said that I downloaded the rom. I will reupload on friday, I am still finishing the third town and fixing some bugs. Though I will have to let someone else handle this certain bug. That bug prevents you from returning to the second town after going to route 2. The game simply crashes. 
The other bugs are just mapping based, just to do with the borders and similar things.

Did we all die off? I'm waiting for you guys to finish your jobs.

I am sorry guys but I cant give you the complete maps today. I have a little more to Finnish and I will get it up soon. At my pace I am going at for this should mean I could get it all done in a week but since I couldn't meet the Christmas deadline I may be a few days late. I am working hard though, spending a good hour or two on this everyday. 
Also I got a new PC for Christmas and I found out how to copy and paste (on 1.92!) so things should be even faster.

PS - I am thinking of having some sort of secret to find through out the game. Like having a few NPC's in hidden places that will tell you a number for a code for a prize.

I am not finished but I thought it would be a good idea if I just uploaded the rom now.
We have very little time to make the game and we have only ran in to the same situation we did last time. I will take my share of the blame for not finishing all of the mapping.
Since we only have 10 days left and the rest of the day I think we should at least get a beta finished before we continue so we at least have a chance in the competition.

We are only 2 towns off from a complete game yet there is still a lot to do. For instance I still need to map a ton of houses and set up warps and connections to them. I am probably going to want town 3 to go or I'll have to edit it if we have time. I am missing one route to make all of the maps connectable.
Then of course we need scripting and town names. (plus some wild pokemon data but I think only for 2 maps).

EDIT: It looks likely that Davideo7 could extend the due date as I saw in the competition thread. I have been back at work and the final rom maps will be finished in the next few days.

MechaMento : Sorry for the late reply, but I will probably test the ROM as soon as possible and maybe record it on my channel. We'll see when I'm done with some stuff I got to do.

Ok so here is the rom. Not finished as per usually of my unpromising standard.
It was harder than I thought to design so many maps without them looking bad. I have had to redesign maps multiple times.

I'm resigning from mapping since I just cant do well at it all of the time. I mean I broke a rom so we had to start over and my map design skill s aren't the greatests either. I'm sorry guys but I don't enjoy this either so I am just going back to making the soundtrack since I actually enjoy it.

I am pretty sure I have done all of the connections but I haven't touched many warps. It took me a while and I even broke another rom in the process losing 2 maps that I really didn't want to make again. For the places I didn't touch that required warps and incase I messed up here is how the over world goes.

Town 1 into route 1 (connection)
Route 1 into Town 2 (warp)
Town 2 into Route 2 (connection)
Route 2 into Town 3 (warp), Shiney Forest (warp) and into the 3rd one down in the route 2 folder (connection)
3rd one down in the route 2 folder into Cave 1 (warp)
Cave 1 into route 3 (warp)
route 3 into town 4 (warp)
town 4 into route 4 (connection)
please ignore the building to the north in route 4
Route 4 into Town 5 (warp)
Town 5 into Route 5 (connection)
Route 5 into Town 6 (warp)
Town 6 into Route 6 (connection)
Route 6 into Route 7 (warp)

End of the line, I suggest putting a NPC to say that this part of the game is still in production or something same goes for that place in route 4. I wanted a dungeon their but never got around to doing it well.

There are some other maps but I just hate them.

There are some wild pokemon and other on finished stuff like houses and warps. Again I apologize but it really is a stress for me to do this and that is pretty much why I am resigning.

The house in route 1 and the house on the little island in town 6 could be part of a free pokemon secret. There is also a slightly hidden place in route 5 where we could put an NPC so maybe if a player finds all 3 they can get a free pokemon or something.


So yeah I want to focus on the music since that is why I was originally he. If you want a mapper you are going to have to be looking for one again. Feel free to cut my deal and if you really really want to take me off the developers thing but that isn't a must.
