im going to have to say Dark type. alot of dark dypes can learn moves to render the opponent nearly useless. like sleep and paralyzing, burning, poison, that kinda stuff. i think these guys are pretty deadly if the have a few of these along with a strong attack!!!!

bossrunner :  Dragon or Psychic.  I have never gone through a single pokemon game without having one of my guys being beaten by these types.  Dragons are ridiculously hard to train, but it pays off.  Psychic types have great Special attack, and most of their attacks are special so that is good.  If you were to EV train a Dragonite and Alakazam on the same team, you'd be unstoppable.

I'd say from personal preference that the best is water type. I just think it has good advantages, and the weakness of grass does kind of suck, it is strong against so many things. It is only really bad against electric and grass, and has the advantage over Fire, Ground, and Rock, and a defensive advantage over Steel, Fire, and Ice. And I freaking love Piplup.

I would have to say dragons are the best with strength and resistance to most other types except dragon and ice. Ice type moves for sure. C'mon, they beat dragon (and rock, grass, ground)!!! Water pokemon, however, are the best because they can learn both ice and water techniques. Take Kabutops for example. He is Rock/Water, but can learn ice and grass type moves.
