One time, I played Dragon Ball Advance Adventure, and lost my data randomly for no apparent reason that I could find (vizzed even tells me I still own this game, but for some reason, my only options to play when loaded are 'no data'). It wouldn't let me post more than one game ID, so I posted the one for Pokemon Hack Flora Sky- the game that seems to also have a problem with deleting game data. Now, apparently there is a way to avoid the problem in Flora Sky, but it will take me another while to get to where I can, and I'd rather not get there and find out it didn't work for me for some reason and have wasted all that time.

So, I want to know.. Should I keep using retro game room? I mean, that sounds like a funny question as it'd be my choice. But, I love it, and it's so much of why I use this site. I want to be able to play without worry that my data is going to be deleted for any reason without my own action. Please help anybody if you can! Thanks! X/

For Flora Sky, I know there's an issue with the emulators and using save states. Though I think that's a rom-unique problem.

With the other game, maybe you were playing it before the RGR update that moved save files to your computer? You could try selling it and buying it again and seeing if that fixes something.

Is this problem with both the in-game save and save state?

Saving and loading the state shouldn't be affected I would think.

Saving and loading was fine for Flora Sky up until the elite four. You can save, but after you beat them, you can't come back unless you only save before and after the challenge. My DBAA game data just up and disappeared one day when I tried to load it. I think Someone70 probably has why that happened, though. If only it would sell, lol.

Games like Pokemon are interesting cases because they have the option of continuing after the game ends. For you to be able to continue playing, you have to save it a certain way. You must save your game before the elite 4 (in game save. NOT save state). You cannot make any save states after this or it screws with the ROM. As long as the last save you made was an in game save before the elite four, you can continue on, save then, and be able to load it. If you don't do it that way, it won't work.

Yep, yep. (: I don't normally use the save states, myself. Glad to see this method seems to work for everybody. I think I can continue with no issues now. ^w^ Maybe I'll be able to sell that Dragonball soon. XD

I suggest you using F2 to save and F4 to load what you saved, instead using the save IN your game.

Always use Save states in game and you should be fine. If you are worried about ruining the experience, then only use save states where you could normally save In game anyways. that way nothing is ruined and you still have your data

It seems this has been dealt with. Just use save states and make sure it says it actually has saved it before you quit the game.. also i always save in game as well for some reason..
