Last night I beat Shadow Hearts 1. I'm not gonna go too deeply into it as I have my own gaming blog thread that I'm reserving my full thoughts for, but overall I think it's "just pretty good". The combat is entertaining enough, although battles go on a little long sometimes toward the second half of the game. The characters are certainly... unique... I think toward every single major character I said "what the hell is wrong with you?" at least twice. Normally this is funny! But it got old pretty quickly in this instance.

I'm hearing the sequel is leaps and bounds a better game though, so I'm excited to start it tonight.

I decided to replay the original Starcraft and beat that just recently. It was SO much easier than I remember. I think only the last 2 or 3 levels even gave me any issues at all. The rest were just a breeze to get through. I was a little surprised because in my memory the game was much harder to beat than that.

I've since moved on to Brood War and realized that my memory of the difficulty of this game is from the expansion. It's not crazy difficult yet but I've had to be a lot more careful and spent a lot more time reacting to things than I had to in the original game. I'm totally happy for that. I like a reasonable challenge in the games I play. Not too easy and not too difficult. The expansion is definitely hitting that balance well so far. The only level I had to replay had Kerrigan in it and I wasn't paying attention to her and she died in a stupid way. Otherwise I've just had to slowly work my way through each level methodically and beat it. I'm really enjoying replaying these older games and I plan to replay Warcraft 2 and 3 as well.

I beat the main story mode of Granblue Fantasy: Relink about two nights ago.

I mentioned it in the "what are you currently playing" thread but I am typically not a big fan of these Monster Hunter-like games where it feels like the point of the game is the grind itself. And in fairness to what I'm about to say, it's not like I've FULLY reached that point yet, but I'm at least still enjoying this a lot more than I did when I played other Monster Hunter games. Maybe I played the "wrong ones", or maybe the Granblue IP is doing some heavy lifting, but I finished this game thinking it's a pretty strong 9/10 - I had tons of fun throughout and have thoroughly enjoyed every character I've tried playing so far. I think the one "caveat" to the game is that I did not at the start, and all the way through to the end, think the story was anything special at all - BUT I'm only slightly deducting for this because I recognize that wasn't really the point of the game anyway.

I'm in the middle of three other games and I'm not really sure which one I'll finish first - I'm playing Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Star Fox, and the new Rhythm Heaven game that I'm blanking on the full name for. Regardless though once I beat all three of those games I'll for sure be moving onto Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Like I said in my last post that I was working on beating the Startcraft Brood War expansion and it as a breeze until I hit level 8 of the Zerg campaign. I think that is the one where you kill the overmind. I learned very quickly that that level was not going to be a simple one and done like basically all the ones before.

I was saving and reloading to get through each wave of attacks without too many units or buildings lost and after each major attack that was successful (or not).

Not sure who decided to ramp up the difficulty from a 5 to a 10 at this point but it became shockingly difficult after this point.

The next 2 levels weren't quite as bad but each one required several times of saving and reloading in order to beat. It was extremely frustrating to play the final 3 levels compared to basically all the other levels combined.

Still, glad I played through and beat it. I feel like I beat it once before when I first got the game but I honestly don't know if I ever beat these 3 levels myself.

I just beat the original GameCube version of Twilight Princess yesterday.

I don't really play a lot of Zelda games so I don't have a "whole lot" to compare to, but I did enjoy it! A lot of highs and lows during the game... the water dungeon was pretty mediocre (my impression is that this is normal for Zelda?) and the sky temple was pretty monotonous too. I think the game in terms of combat is far too easy - it feels like it's impossible to die. I think I died one time and it was environmental hazards + me being careless and not bothering to heal. However I did enjoy a lot of the presented puzzles, especially earlier on in the game where you didn't have a lot of tools or health (to make "mistakes" with) at your disposal, though I did also enjoy that the final dungeon did try to make you use everything. The final boss sequence was fantastic too.

For Zelda I have plans to play Skyward Sword HD "soon", and I did preorder the remade OoT (never played the original, probably the only person above the age of 25 to play the remake and not the original lmao) as I got a pretty steep discount on it.

But for the immediate moment, I really AM moving onto Xenoblade Chronicles X like I said in my previous post lol. Got through the tutorial stuff last night.

The last game I beat was technically Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis because it ended, and there wasn't really a way to beat the game, still sad that you can no longer play it, I had over 300 hours in the game, and I spent money. I know 300 hours isn't a lot, but it did seem like it, I played almost every day, and now it feels like something is missing lol

The last game i beat was Kingdom Hearts Dark Road it recently got a PC port sorta thing so since I never really played it while it was available on phone and I had wanted to play it so I never watched any scenes except the ending so it was cool to finally play it myself! That said I can't say it was some great game or story really it was paced awful and without all the cheats they added with the port it would of been miserable.

I just finished beating Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. Its been like over 10 years since i last played the game. I'm reminded why i love this game so much. Personally one of my favorite in the series. I got a lot of post game stuff i need to complete, and the episodes.

I beat Resident Evil 2 Remake a few nights ago. Definitely a very fun game but I don't have any "love" for it like I do for RE4R. Currently now playing the other routes in order to get the platinum trophy.

The last game that I beat was the Nintendo Switch version of the new Steins Gate remake. My review was due yesterday and I had a little less time to beat the game than I thought I did. It was also my first time ever experiencing Steins Gate and I loved it.
