I go with XP, here's why:

95 -- I've never used it.
2000 -- OK but gets dwarfed by 2003.
2003 -- Kicks 2000's arse, but too much work on the battle animation characters, and battle anim chars are too hard to find resources for.
XP -- Kicks butt. Period.

I've played some pretty good RPG's for Game Maker, ones that are MUCH better than anything made by RPG Maker 2000+...
Of course, that takes time, and requires a person to learn the entire Game Maker Language.

It's all a matter of time though...

Indeed, that is true. I have also played a couple tactical RPGs made wit game maker that sport some dam cool features, but becuase I already know RUBY and RGSS I stick wit RPG Maker XP.

I still haven't tried XP out though, but I've actually heard it was bad ... but after reading this thread I might actually check it out.

There is no legitamit reason to say RMXP is bad, it has all of the features that any other RPG maker has you just have to code some of them. Which really isn't that hard. You just have to learn.

RMXP is great in game making than the other, because now you can have icons added to your items, weapons and armors, be able use items on enemies(grenade and etc), have status effects that double the Max HP, Max MP(SP), Defense, Magic Defense, and Evasion.
