I haven't heard the term "bomb" before... took me a second to realize what it was 
Retro games are going to help the 3DS, without a doubt. People love handhelds, people love retro game. The 2 are sure to go together like bread and butter. Plus it's multi-purpose hardware. Get the new games, get the retro games, so no need to buy expensive hardware that can only play retro games, like the GP2X Wiz or the Pandora

Considering that every Nintendo DS so far has been a success, I don't think the 3DS will bomb compared to sales of other portable systems of other companies; however, I do believe it won't be quite up to par in sales compared to previous Nintendo DS consoles. Though it may be a breakthrough peace of technology, people have come take breakthroughs for granted. I think that Microsoft's Project Kinect and the "breakthrough" video game streaming service (Onlive?) both set for release soon will take up much of the 3DS' spotlight. -------------------- |

Handhelds are a big thing, they make gaming much more versatile and affordable. The only Con I can think of is the price point. A big handheld with limited motion sensing capabilities as well as full 3-D without glasses is gonna cost quite a bit. Hear ye! Hear ye! I'm surprised there's already a thread wondering if the 3DS is overrated...
I'm definitely saying no, it's not. It hasn't even been released yet XD And, I highly doubt it going to bomb. Retro games isn't going to bring it down for sure. I have to agree with mdynasty926. It's not overrated. And even though the price is going to be higher then the previous DS handhelds, the fact that many games from the far past are going to be put onto the 3DS is going to boost sales. In fact, i'm inclined to believe that the retro games that will be for the 3DS will keep the price from being too big of a factor. -------------------- |

Adding retro games would be okay, but making series revivals (like Kid Icarus) would push it forward even further. The gameplay graphics were shown at E3 and they're amazing. The whole "PSP has better graphics" defense is now dead. Nintendo has now stepped up the graphics and the 3D toggling thing seems to be very useful from what we were shown last month.
I don't think it'll bomb. I think it's going to make the company soar even higher.

Honestly, it's a good idea, but I'm waiting how good a 3DS will really be. Of course on the nintendo E3 site they talk about how good it is but you never see it in action. As for the graphics, when I first saw the kid icarus video it looked as though it were on wii! Although I'm very skeptical about the 3D I believe if movies can do it, than nintendo can probably do it better.
