Most MS-DOS Games won't work with command prompt on today's computers, but now with the DOS BOX emulator, not only will it provide sound and work better, but it can take game play videos! Go to www.dosbox.com for the free download. (I tested this, it has no virus attached!)

DOSBox is definately the best way to play old DOS games.
It takes a little knowledge of the command prompt to set it up, but not too much.
It's especially good that it works on new systems like Vista and 7.

I've tried running Dosbox to play Freddy Pharaks, it's such a pain to run. However I'm a big fan of the ScummVM emulator for running adventure games on there.
