In general, I think we overthink the "proper" language in our daily lives. Language is just a way to communicate; sure it's better if it's logical and concise, but as long as the point get's across, what the harm in saying "all of sudden"?

One of the funniest examples of how ridiculous language can get is the numbering system in French.

1-16 each have their names, "un" to "seize"; but 17-19, we say "ten-seven", "ten-eight", and "ten-nine" not unlike "seven-teen".

From 20-69 Everything proceeds normally, every ten numbers we have a new word and add the single unit at the end: "Fourty-one" is "Quarante-et-un". However, 70, is not simply "seventy", it's "sixty-and-ten" (soixante-et-dix). That means that 77 is then "sixty-and-ten-seven" (soixante-et-dix-sept).

But things only get more convoluted from there. At 80, we don't return to a normal numbering system, we instead say "four-twenty" (quatre-vingt), not unlike "four-scores". So 85 is "four-twenty-five" (quatre-vingt-cinq).

At 90, we get even more psychotic. Instead of thinking of a new name, we keep the "four-twenty" but start adding 10. 90 is "four-twenty-ten". 95 is "four-twenty-fifteen".

But remember how from 17-19 we add ten plus the number? That means that 97 is "four-twenty-ten-seven" (quatre-vingt-dix-sept)!

I think it's probably hard not to let it effect you, either for positive or negative. I say, in general, I usually support where I work, so I would be more willing to purchase from there, but I have heard of some people associating their dislike for work with the products/services they sell. Therefore, disliking purchasing from that company.

When it comes to Vizzed, I definitely would rather play a ROM here than elsewhere.

It's sounds kind of morbid, but probably something along the lines of "Well, it's about time". In a way, every day we live is a day we cheat death, so it's like every day I DON'T die, I'm happy I was so lucky.

I will not be reapplying for Admin this time.

I believe I performed quite well for the first half of my term, including regularly checking in with the mods regarding their posting and personal goals.

However the second half of my term has been abysmal.

This is really too bad because this is the position I have wanted my whole life. However I can't in good conscience claim that I have been a good Admin these past few months and claim I would somehow turn it all around. My plan is to increase my activity and performance again in time for the next election where I will re-apply.

You can also get a air purifier. Most hardware stores have them. The filters on them can be a bit expensive to replace, but a good filter will do wonders.

It's just a machine that you sit in the corner of the room and it continuously filters air from your room. I'm not sure you'll notice a huge difference with the hair on things like the furniture, but it will remove the stuff floating in the air.

pennylessz : I have no idea what the Calories in Calories out diet. Do you just count how many calories you eat and make sure you don't eat more than you burn?

Minuano : Keto, in my opinion, is an unfortunate diet fad. I believe this for a few reasons, but most importantly it's terrible for the environment. The WHO has said that eating less animal products is the single most important thing a person can do for the environment; yet all these keto people are going around eating tons of eggs, meat, and butter. It's quite selfish if you ask me.

Although you were not the one driving, I can understand if you feel a little guilty about the whole thing. Do you? It's ok if you do. What is done is done, and there's no point dwelling on it, but it's good to confront how you feel about it.

A vertebral fracture is a scaring thing for sure. Instead of focusing on worrying about the unknown, I find it helpful to focus on what I can do, and only on that. So in your case, you can focus on doing what the Dr. told you to do to help heal... and that's all you can do! Chances are, you'll heal fine.

As for you girlfriend. You've spoken a lot about how you think she feels about you, but how do you feel about her? Don't think about the concept of "loosing her" or anything like that right now; just tell me how you feel about her. How much do you like her? Why? Why are you dating her?

Tragedy does a lot to people. It makes us realize what we have and might loose. We all get distracted by things we want instead of being thankful for what we have. This tragedy simply jolted your father into realizing this. Sadly, we tend to revert back into our un-thankful state after a while, so use this time to build a good relationship with your dad. Remember, you can't control him, you can only control your own actions and do YOUR best; the rest is not up to you.

Most of all though, killing yourself doesn't solve anything. You might think no one would miss you, and that it's an easy "way out". But the truth is, you'd just be causing more pain to the people around you. If there is one goal we should have in life, it's to live and die as well as we can.

I find this topic interesting, to be honest. How some people view clothing like Zeldizaster does, as simply a functional necessity. On the other hand, some people view clothing as also a form of art, and therefor take interest in the way it looks.

What's interesting, is how many of the "I don't care about clothes" people, seem to think that that concept is logical and they are not conforming to societies obsession with appearance. But really... it's just like any form of art or expression, isn't it? It's like putting a cool picture on your wall, a decal on your PC, a tattoo on your skin, or one could even make a stretch and say it's like playing music in your car. It's simply a piece of aesthetic that pleases the person using it.

But like all art, it's not for everyone. Some people might have no interest in paintings or tattoos, same as some people have no interest in the art of clothing.

Did you ever hear about the seen they had to remove from a Pokemon episode because it was giving kids headaches and seizures at times? The flashing light in the incredibles reminded me of that. Last movie I saw was Spiderman: Inter the Spider-Verse. It was very good actually!
