It's hard for me to put a well qualified opinion together on this since I don't have much of a frame of reference for how things work internally, but that definitely sounds shady. I feel like just about anything government does should be open for the public to review. I believe government should be as transparent as possible with very little exception.

If, hypothetically, the employees of said company are issued cards to pay for parking and the company's being reimbursed, then I can see that being a different story altogether. In that case, the waiver does seem redundant. And you do have a point with the bike lanes.

I would assume hospitals have bays for trucks delivering supplies. In terms of food service though, very few if any places have a designated parking area reserved for delivery. At Walmart in the next town, in addition to the handicap spaces, there are a couple parking spaces near the front of the building reserved for law enforcement. While probably unnecessary for a store like Walmart, I feel like, if places can reserve parking for police, they should be able to reserve at least one parking space for food service.

I think it largely depends on how it's done. I don't really know enough about the system to say what's good and what isn't, but I can say that, even in Nashville, which isn't anywhere near as perpetually congested as a place like New York City or Chicago, it can be difficult to find places to unload large orders of food like 50 pizzas to a hospital or government building. Depending on the severity of the impact to the average commuter and strain on the delivery driver in question, I don't think it's really fair to expect a driver to pay for parking, if parking is even available, if they're going to be there no longer than a matter of minutes.

Source: my dad's been in and out of the pizza business for over 20 years and worked for Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, and Domino's.

I'm very much looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima and the Xenoblade Chronicles definitive edition. Ghost of Tsushima has had my attention for months, and I maintain that Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the greatest RPGs ever made. It remains to be seen whether or not I'll have any money for them, but it's a goal. Also looking forward to what they do with Breath of the Wild 2. I'm hoping they bring back some of the traditional elements from the series. Not that I disliked Breath of the Wild.

I've been playing NieR: Automata. I'm not very far in, but so far, with very little exception, I'm really enjoying it. I really wasn't expecting to shift between so many genres of game in the same game, let alone the same battle. I'm probably going to be binging this game for the next good while, and I'm hoping it's an easy platinum.

I spend a lot of time doing thought experiments about different moral questions and where I stand on them, and something that comes to mind from time to time is the idea selective breeding and eugenics.

Now I want to make it clear here that I believe that eugenics as practiced and enforced by excluding and disallowing certain people to reproduce is a major violation of the individual's autonomy. I absolutely believe it's nothing the state should get involved in.

With the disclaimer out of the way, I was considering the possibility that a community could voluntarily selectively breed with the goal not being the removal of inferior genes from the pool, but the introduction of better genes into it. If done on a voluntary basis, would it be immoral to fund dating and testing services aimed towards such a crowd? It seems to me that most of the stigma is, and rightly so, centered on intervention into the citizen's private life. I could however see someone arguing that any kind of social or biological engineering in people is against a natural order, which a lot of people value.

Eniitan :
Tafarijah :

To add a little bit of detail, they're saying this virus is very much like something that caused a lot of problems in China decades ago called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, or SARS for short, and I believe I've been told it can be transmitted from human to human via breathing. In other words, it's an airborne pathogen.

For anyone reading: if you go out and you're in an area that's potentially infected, use sanitizing wipes, wear a mask, and go to the doctor if you have a fever and a cough.

There are a lot of popular series I've been recommended but haven't watched yet, my favorites are subject to change, but I'd have to say that the best anime I've seen out of all I've watched was probably Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0. I thought it was so good that I almost immediately started the English dub after finishing the sub, and now that I'm almost finished with the dub, I really can't say which I recommend more. They both amazing in their own right.

Very close behind it would probably be Mob Psycho 100. I can't recommend it enough and I *really* hope we get a third season.

It's be really hard for me to pick a third because I've honestly seen more anime I thought was great than I thought was meh. Cowboy Bebop and Castlevania are contenders.

Right now, I'm listening to New Keepers of the Water Towers' second studio album, Cosmic Child, which, if I had to describe it, I would describe as being something sorta like if a couple of the 90s Seattle grunge bands decided to collaborate on an album with some influence of Pink Floyd...? That's probably not a great or accurate description, and it's not as weird as I make it sound.

I came across the Swedish band in passing on Spotify, and have come to really like a couple of their albums. They're unfortunately one of those bands that drastically changes their sound with each release, so some of their earliest stuff and their latest album don't really ring quite right for me.

Actually a little disappointed no one's started any discussion on this. I haven't really sat in on many conversations about intellectual property rights, and I wanted to get a feel for a few different arguments before I really put together my own opinion. I guess it's possible most everyone else is in the same boat. Considering that, I'll play devil's advocate.

I'm supportive of a mostly free market, so my initial gut feeling on the subject is that anyone who's concerned about not being able to make it in a market previously untapped but now rapidly opening up to competition as a result of their innovation should simply strive to produce a better product. The fact that nothing will ever foster innovation like competition does is easily demonstrated by the absolutely massive leaps and bounds in technology sparked by warring nations. Not just in terms of military hardware as seen in weapons, vehicles and body armor from the US Civil War, World War I, and World War II, but also in the areas of flight, space travel, and cyber security from the space race and threats of espionage.

On it's face, it would seem as though intellectual property laws not only stifle innovation, but protect and promote monopolies and cartels who corner a market and overcharge for an inferior product or service. That said, I can also see how one could argue that they can protect small startups from large corporations ever hungry for new acquisition.

I look forward to reading everyone's points and opinions.

I haven't really had the opportunity to take any up, but I've always wanted to. Among them would be Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Judo, and Aikido.

I'm not strong or particularly limber, but not being anywhere close to overweight and probably being underweight, I assume that means I'm a blank canvas. I would assume that, while it's good to go in with a little prior fitness, it's something you can pick up along the way.

I can't say I'm familiar with the Spacey controversy because I don't really keep up with the celebrity stuff. However, regardless of the incident, I don't feel like anyone should be permanently stigmatized. I feel like it's wrong to believe anyone irredeemable because it denies them the chance.

At the end of the day, everyone's better or worse equipped to deal with their problems and their environment and everyone is a product of that environment. I'm not saying that should excuse anything, but even the worst people in the world weren't born awful. The only really effective approach to this problem is a holistic one. Understanding what made them they way they are and how, and making sure not to repeat the mistake by adjusting how we treat each other.

So I guess the short answer is that I'm not only in the rehabilitation camp, I'm also opposed to cancellation.

Anytime shortly after release? Probably neither. we poor bois. That said, I'm actually interested in both for similar reasons.

As a side point, while the Series X design is extremely meme-able and I've reposted my fair share of images satirizing it, I actually think it's a nice design. There's something to be said about the simplicity (at least externally... Whether or not they had to shoehorn the hardware into the shell remains to be seen) when compared to the images floating around that are supposed to be of the PS5 devkit.

I've only ever played a Microsoft console once that wasn't a demo at a store, and it was maybe the first half hour or hour of Resident Evil 6 on 360. I've missed out on a lot of past Microsoft exclusive games. With that in mind, despite my skepticism of it's performance, Microsoft's claim that it will be backwards compatible with every previous Microsoft console is very attractive.

The same goes for the PS5. I've heard rumor that the PS5 is also supposed to be backwards compatible with every previous generation of Sony home consoles, and as someone who missed out on the PS3's exclusive games that weren't eventually rereleased on PS4, and just the idea of being able to play most of my collection from a single console without having unhook and rehook retro systems, it seems like the perfect upgrade to the PS4.

For anyone that might be a little hesitant about buying, everything I payed for came in only 3 days later and exactly as described.

Better than most eBay sellers I've done business with, honestly.

I don't really have any preference for or against the setting, but I've seen a couple movies I thought were good. True Grit and High Plains Drifter. I haven't seen any of the Tarantino westerns, but I've thought about checking them out. I've seen only a couple other Tarantino films and they were definitely something else.

I listen to music with Spotify on either my laptop or sometimes on PS4 when I'm grinding something for a trophy. A friend had introduced me to a band and I really liked their sound, but quickly ran of of music from just one artist. Spotify's helped me find music in (if only vaguely) similar styles and I've discovered music I otherwise would've never stumbled across.
