Ok so this weekend my friend is coming over to hang out all weekend. Me and him have made a small list of games we will play. However the rule is we only play that game the whole weekend, Our plan is to beat the game we choose. Here are the games.

Final Fantasy VI (ps1 edition)
Cave Story + (PC Best ending)
Sonic Mania (Complete & Knuckles mode) 
Pokemon Silver (Beat Red)
Viewtiful Joe 2 (ps2)
Super Smash Bros Brawl (Subspace Emissary and all 1p and 2p events on hard)

I, personally, would say FFVI without a doubt! It's my personal favorite game in the series, has a wonderful soundtrack,a story with some nice twists if you've managed to avoid spoilers, and a varied cast of characters with their own unique personalities and development, as well as being very extensive for the time. I'm definitely more than a little biased here, but I definitely feel like your time would be best spent playing that, and you won't be disappointed. I need to get back to playing it again myself, someday.

I would say that a great game to do is Sonic Mania, since it's a simple game that is SUPER fun to play in a quick session. Plus Knuckles mode is fun for exploring

I don't know most of these games. The only 1 I know is Super Smash Bros Brawl so I would recommend that. I'd recommend more for you to have your friend pick what game you beat, though. He'd appreciate it if you gave him that choice and you'd know that the game you play is 1 he's happy with!
