Or, do you decide based on the giveaway, like whether the Pokemon is very rare or knows any special moves (like the Jirachi currently being given out at Game Stop)? I myself decide based on the giveaway. While most of the time, it's something that's worth it, if I already have that pokemon or have access to a place where I can get it, then I won't bother, even if it knows really special moves. Of course, if I'm already there (like if they're giving away a Pokemon at Game Stop and I have my DS) I won't pass it up, but, especially if it is one of the Toy R Us ones, I won't always go get it.

I would like to get every one as they are special as unique in one way or another, but we here in Australia still miss out on certain event Pokemon (for example the Jirachi you guys are currently getting).

well I've never really got an event pokemon fairly. I just wait a little while until the action replay code comes out and use that. I don't like going out of my way to get a pokemon that does something i can easily cheat in. If I'm not mistaken all the events for diamond pearl and platinum have codes. i think theres even codes to get what the event pokemon unlocks without actually getting the pokemon not sure about that tho.

I'm not gonna lie here I don't try to get event Pokemon because I can't travel to the places they have them and well I 'll just wait for a cheat to get them.(I know its not the spirit, but ones needs are better than others)

I try to get as many as I can, but I live in Canada, so outside of Wi-fi, I don't usually get them, except for the shaymin and regigigas from Toys R' Us because I just have to travel up to Newyork for a day trip, just a couple hours driving.
