I'm not much of a person who goes for documentaries. I'm much more interested in movies like Star Wars, Pixar movies and any film that I've seen as a kid that were awesome to me. I've seen a few interesting documentaries that range from aliens to history and even sometimes about the many surgeries there are (because I had many as a kid) which was always something that I like so see, mostly when it's ever on TV. But what I have never thought I would come across would actually mess me up a bit! I came across a film called Faces Of Death that was a series of documentaries from 1977 to 1990. It consisted of the many ways to die and showed every detail. They called these type of films, a Mondo film. However years ago, the makers of Faces Of Death came out and said it was all fake (which was a relief to me). But in 1993, one independent horror film company proved themselves that they could make the first true "Shockumentary" and they called it, Traces Of Death. I've only seen the first Faces Of Death which was highly controversial film at that time. It was posted on Youtube and I believe it is still there. I was watching the film on YouTube 3 months ago at night and came across a related video, which was Traces Of Death. I clicked on it to see what it was about and... Oh my god.
Now unlike Faces Of Death for being discovered fake, Traces Of Death on the other hand is different. It is real. It is a compilation of stock footage depicting real violence, gore, and death with a narrator that says a few lines. This was a big mistake for me to watch it in the middle of the night. I have seen real gore before and it has not bothered me, but this film really got me. I couldn't even sleep that night. I started to have a panic attack the next day but told my mother it was probably the McDonald's I ate when I was at Walmart. The music of the film is the most freakiest soundtrack I've ever heard. I've watched Traces Of Death a few times recently and got used to it. Then I found out there was five Traces Of Death films that were made. I watched all of them and the forth one was the most disturbing out of all of them. They started to use Grindcore and Death metal music on the other films, the first one was synth like music that was taken from public domain horror films.
I'm not encouraging or giving curiosity to anyone on Vizzed to see these films. If you are not into gore, I really don't recommend seeing these films. The first film which was on YouTube is not there anymore, so it must be found from some other means.
P.S. If a thread like this is not allowed on Vizzed, Moderators can go ahead and close it. I just wanted to share my experience and to write it as clean as possible. I apologize if I have gave you the urge to see the film, which was absolutely not the intention to do so.
