Everyone needs a good news story every once and a while.

In Panama City, a family was stuck in a rip current, and 80 people made a human chain to save them. Any of those people could have gotten caught in it, but they had enough faith in others to not let go and save that family.

This is a really great story for me to hear, because I was in Panama City a few weeks ago, and the people around are great.

it,s stories like this that always remind me that no matter what happens in the world there will always be people who are willing to do good for others even if it means endangering their own lives for the sake of saving a stranger I myself also try to put others ahead of myself and even though I am a regular blood donor who has saved many lives I,m not sure if I would have the courage to do what these people did  but it,s always uplifting to read stories like this instead of all the bad things that always seem to happen

As much as I want to say I would have joined this chain and help save lives, I can say that I would probably think it's a bad idea. I don't even like being in very deep water and the only type of swimming I can do/like to do is the front stroke.

I'm thankful to hear stories like this that encourage me to keep living selfless because it could greatly impact someone's life whether I know it or not. I hope stories like this continue receiving recognition from the news. I like that people do things like this not expecting to be recognized for it, but they deserve the recognition!

Yeah I only would've joined the chain if the water level didn't reach my face. No point in doing it if you don't feel confident or comfortable, because that could end very badly.

Love seeing stuff like this in between all the political BS.

This story is great. However, no matter the courage, all eighty of the people HAD to be good swimmers, with the best at the end of the chain. This wouldn't denote, persay, a person like me who cannot swim. My heart goes out to this horrifying situation. Yet I would not be able to help physically. It would be more noble for me to admit my weakness and not make matters worse. Bear in mind I know the intent of this post was not to say that those who didn't help think of themselves. But maybe some thought of others BY thinking of themselves, or rather, their weaknesses that would very well have changed this from miracle to tragedy?
