E3 is perhaps the biggest name in gaming trade shows, featuring booths, merchandise, sneak peeks, and more to satisfy your gaming needs every June, while Pax is the ultimate celebration of gaming culture, featuring concerts, panels, LAN parties and tabletop games. They both have their advantages and weaknesses. Which do you prefer and why?

To put this really simply.. E3 is more of a corporate event and therefore if you are going as a fan of games it might be tedious as heck to go......

E3 for me is basically for big companies to brag about themselves and to show glimpses of future games to make sure that their branding remains as strong as ever. 

PAX is more based around the consumer and there is a lot more to do at them, Plus it is not as hectic at the moment considering that E3 have only just started letting members of the public attend so it will be a nightmare for a couple of years.....

So long story short if you actually want to enjoy yourself, go to a PAX or a another gaming convention like Too many games etc

I like PAX more, but mainly because PAX East is really close to where I live, so there's always events going on in my city as a result. YouTubers heading up to PAX always stop here and do meetups before or after the convention, there's always sales, and more.
