so this is a pretty simple question, what mediums do you guys like to use when it comes to art? Do you guys like digital art or traditional? watercolours or markers? Oil pastels or crayons? what are your favourites?

Personally, I love both watercolours and pencil crayons! in fact, my absolute favourite thing to use at the moment are watercolour pencils! best of both worlds!

I never really liked doing digital art. It feels really disconnected to me, and just not as calming, but I like the way it looks!

I mostly use a pencil and something to mark the pencil lines when drawing. And then i go to my scanner, scan them to my PC and color them via my PC. I can show you very recent examples but i'm not exactly sure if it's allowed to share art in other people's threads.

If i had to color irl drawings, i use those markers for coloring stuff (idk the right term).

Saw a pencil drawing of master cheif on reddit the other day and oh my god that drawing was amazing. Looked so realistic and did not look like a real life picture. The progress picture was truly amazing and clear up that it was pencil drawing since it did not look like it. So my answer on what art medium I like it most be pencil if it done right

When I had to draw in art class in high school, I really liked using my colored pencils. I would use my pastels sometime too, but I almost never mixed mediums ( i.e. I wouldn't use markers and pastels on the same piece )

I have personally never been good at art, so a lot of things impress me when it comes to art. However I do like digital art a lot more simply due to the fact it's easily obtainable, and it's also easy for artists to fix errors. Granted it does not take the same amount of skill as say an oil painter... but you really can't watch an oil painter or a great artist finish a high quality piece of art in about an hour or less.

If I am the one trying to do said art... I actually find it really irritating and infuriating..For three simple reasons really, I lack the patience and skill needed to even begin to draw slightly well, My motor skills are pretty awful at the best of times.. So trying to be accurate with them is essentially impossible... I'm left handed... so anything that doesn't dry quickly like markers or paint usually gets smudged a lot due to the way I hold pens and paintbrushes.

Art is one of the few things I enjoy but can't stand doing my self basically.

I'm a traditional artist all the way. I love using graded staedtler and prisma (both coloured and graphite) pencils for doing my portraits. For creating realistic shading, I use tissue, a blender or a q-tip and for highlights I use a kneaded eraser or a fine tipped white gel pen. The paper I use varies, but I love Canson paper, most of my drawings are done on it. I recently started using Strathmore toned paper and I'm pretty pleased with the results.

I tried digital art a while back, but I just can't get into it. It kind of feels like cheating to me. I just love sitting down with a sketch book and my tools and getting lost in the process. There's nothing as satisfying as finishing a drawing and seeing all of your hours of work come together in the end.
