I used too be a member here ages ago and I made this new account a few weeks ago and recently managed too get the RGR plug-in. I went into the retro game room to play the games I used too play, but I can't seem to find them. Did they get removed or am I just a derp and am looking in the wrong spot? The games in question are practically all Mario,Zelda, and Pokémon games.

Nintendo games, eh? I'm afraid you won't be able to play them here. Nintendo Always acts like an old man when Copyright is involved. They demanded that Vizzed take down their games.

Nintendo swooped in and ruined all of our fun.
PM me and I can help you find a way to play them outside of Vizzed.

mario, pokemon and...zelda, you say?

it's highly likely that this http://imgur.com/a/Yu0P0 is the exact reason for the removal.

nintendo is rereleasing a small number of old snes games and seem to have taken to nuking large chunks of various ROM sites collections, if not shutting the sites down entirely. most franchises shown in that pic are among the nuked ones. and don't bother with full romsets for nintendo games as those are likely to be nuked as well.

and i'd bet money (or Viz in this case) that nintendo started going after ROM sites like this just so they can force people to repurchase these old games they no longer make. in fact, i'd even go so far as to bet the games on this new SNES thing could be checked and found to be ROMs from emulation sites. that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it was found to be true but it would leave me even more pissed at nintendo for doing this than i already am.

at this point, i've decided to just give up on console gaming entirely after this gaming generation. with all these companies and game developers taking part in increasingly s***ty practices, it just doesn't seem worth it to keep supporting them imo.

if i ever get a new console after this gen, it won't be to show support for these companies but rather just for some specific titles that might interest me and don't get a PC release.

so yeah, if something like this happens to ROM sites again in the future. just check what the company issuing the take downs is planning on releasing soon and you'll know the exact reason behind them: to leave people no choice but to pay for the rerelease(s).

Yea, Nintendo gave Dave a cease and desist order. I ended up  coming back confused and a little upset (all that work in Pokémon yellow and Zelda1 completely gone). But it's understandable. I got a pm from Lieutenant Vickstz explaining how I could still play them.
