Freedom is here; I finished up my junior year of school today! I didn't even have to take a single exam this time around since I'm happy with how my grades ended up. I thought my first 2 years of high school were busy enough but this entire year from start to finish proved me wrong. More than ever, I had to dedicate hours of each day to homework and studying inbetween volunteer work and ACT prep. It all paid off in the end. I got a 24 on my ACT and these are my final grades for this trimester: By the way, for those of you wondering, Film Literacy is a cool class where we watch movies at school and at home, and while watching, we analyze their elements. For example, camera angles, music, visual effects, and more. Extra credit helped me a lot in all of my classes but even without it I'd be happy with how things went. Now I have plenty of time for fun with friends, including vizzed! The TdV doesn't start for another month but until then, I want to be on here more instead of Facebook and Instagram, which have lately felt like a small waste of time. I'm not putting this here to brag, but to say that this is the result of enduring through hard times. Burnout and lack of motivation happened often this year, but with God's help and with encouragement from friends and family from time to time, this was my result. I thought it would be impossible to pull all A's in this difficult of a school year, let alone the H (stands for honors) in Spanish. Don't give up just because things are so difficult. Instead, try even harder and don't try to do it all on your own! It's hard to ask for help from others but often times, you'll need it more than you realize. Man, when I was in high school, the only thing that changed was that the same subjects now had books with twice the pages... With classes like yours, I'd probably still be interested in studying. Looks like each subject has its own grading system, because you got a much better grade in Film Literacy yet didn't get H. Then again, we use a very simple grading system, so anything that is just slightly complicated makes our head spin I'm honored to see you got the H in Spanish, but may I ask what exactly is Honors Spanish? Sounds like medieval Spanish to me, and while it gives an aura of superiority to the talker it's totally incorrect nowadays I fully know what you mean by asking others for help. Me and a group of friends once asked a teacher if we could arrange extra curricular lessons dedicated to subjects being taught by another teacher, simply because we hated her and her way of doing class while we idolized the other teacher (and I'm sure my friends still idolize him as much as I do). It didn't go through, but it goes on to show that desperation isn't the end of the road because we all managed to pass those subjects. EX Palen : Honors Spanish is just honors because it isn't required to graduate. We only have to take 2 years of a foreign language to graduate. One of them I took early in 8th grade, the second one was really easy too, and so I decided to take Honors Spanish 3 and 4. They are harder than the first 2 years, but because I'm special I found it easy again. Here's our grading system for honors classes: 96-100%= H 92-95%= A 82-91%= B 72-81%= C 62-71%=D 61 and below= F Normally honors classes are just advanced versions of a core subject, like English or History. But like I said, it's just because it's optional. It may sound kind of funny. I thought the idea was kinda weird. The grading system is the same for regular classes except there are no H's; A's are the highest grade you can get (92-100%). Eirinn : BOOM! The sound my backpack made when it hit my floor. Lol yeah it wasn't a rage; I did it out of excitement while yelling, "No more schoolwork!" I slammed it on the floor because I had already emptied it out and I wanted to put it away dramatically.
Yeah you were right I'm happy to not only be back, but also to be contributing to the board's activity. I did a small post spree the other day which I hope to do once a week or more until the TdV. I hope it motivates other users to do it too Yeah you were right I'm happy to not only be back, but also to be contributing to the board's activity. Congrats on the great grades and having a good junior year. I remember when I was in high school. I actually liked High school I had a good time and had wonderful friends. Me personally I took a lot of science and math classes. I wasn't a fan of language arts due to them being my weakest subject |

zanderlex : Great idea to throw it in the ocean so the fish can become as smart as us! Good luck with the end of your school year. I had a tough time giving my all my last week of school because the weather was nice and I desperately wanted to be out in it. tornadocam : Thank you I haven't disliked high school either. The core classes aren't any fun and they're often overwhelming. But all the electives I've taken have been interesting and I can apply them to my life easily. Language arts is one of my strongest subjects, but my hardest is by far science. Math is hard too but I manage to actually get solid grades in it. tornadocam : Thank you I haven't disliked high school either. The core classes aren't any fun and they're often overwhelming. Nice man, amazing job with those grades!! XD My parents would kill to trade me out for you! I am in the IB Program at Germantown High and let me tell you, it's no cake walk....I am sooo glad school is out now though; that is one thing I won't have to worry about for a while now! The crazy thing about me that my parents tend to flip over is that I don't get low grades because I don't understand it, I was blessed with an amazing intellect and impressive IQ, it is just that I don't care enough!! Although this is due partially because of my A.D.D., I get distracted waaaay too easily and procrastinate ALL. THE. TIME. It is a problem that I am really striving to fix and I am open to any advice you upperclassmen may have for me, I will take anything I can get!! Image upload: 74x100 totaling 6 KB's. Your grades are better than mines, and I'm a graduating senior lol Really, great job this year! I just had my official last day of school on Wednesday, and now we're just doing finals. I have finished my finals today, but I have to finish a project and present it on Monday, then accompany my art teacher who is retiring, and then I am done. Just gotta go back for practices and such, but I'm good. *throws rainbows to celebrate your success* I just had my official last day of school on Wednesday, and now we're just doing finals. PoptartSlayerXD: Yeah, my sister has the same problem with work ethic. She's smart and if she tries, she can earn fantastic grades, but because of her ADHD and the friends she chose to surround herself with, she got poor grades this year. I'm officially a senior now so I feel like I'd better give you some advice XD High school seems long and so far, it increases in difficulty each year. Core classes aren't enjoyable but that's only a temporary problem so try your best. Especially for people with distraction struggles, something I'd recommend is to find a study buddy. Or, to put it in less corny terms, the technique of socialization=memorization. Studying by myself is boring unless I make it fun. By studying with a friend, I'm reminded that I'm not alone with all the work I have to do. And if I'm by myself, I study out loud and come up with some goofy way to remember something. xxAriaxx : Thank you! That must be a huge burden taken off you. You probably feel burned out but there's only a little bit left; make the most of it Good luck finishing out your year. *catches rainbows and eats them* TASTE THE RAINBOW.
