I actually want to know if taking retaking statistics at a local community college (I dropped it here at my 4 year undergrad), somewhere down the line, before I apply for graduate school, is an option for me, if I want an MSW. Would graduate programs honestly care about when and where I retake statistics?

Even though I am a senior in undergrad now, at a four year school, I do not want to go to graduate school right away. I am trying to find a job.
I just dropped statistics because I had a bad professor (long list of reasons there), tutoring wasn't of much help to me, and I just feel as if I wasn't grasping the concepts too well.

I KNOW that most programs will make me retake it once I get to graduate school (I have NO problem with that), but I am also just wondering if taking it again at a community college is also an option for me, for those programs that require statistics before I even apply to them. I've had a few friends who have taken it at community colleges for undergrad and said it wasn't bad at all.

What Janus said I have my Masters (not in social work) But I would like to add some things.

It really depends on the school your going to or wanting to attend's policy. It also depends on the state you are wanting to practice in. Each college has a different criteria and each state has different guidelines to practice in the state. For example in your case social work. Each state has different guidelines on how to get licensed. What might work in Alabama may not work in Mississippi.

When I got my Masters I had to take Statistics for my field. They are a lot of statistics classes out there. They are statistics for psychology, for teaching, biology, chemistry etc. In my program when working on my Bachelors I had to take Statistics as an undergrad but it was specially designed for my major.

My advice would be to check with the school your wanting to attends policy and guidelines. You will also need to study and learn  what the state requires to get a social work practice.

The simple solution here is to ask the registration body of the school you're trying to enter. As was pointed out by our fellow vizzed community members, some schools will not even look at a transcript if you don't have critical prerequisites. Others will look the other way with an asterisk and a *pending* following it.

Others won't even care.

Call them and find out where they stand. They have people who's job is to guide you through the process and hold your hand as much as possible. And you'll know either way and find out what you have to do next to continue the process of education.

Good hunting!
