Hey guys, it's been a while! I have an upcoming album and I decided to release a single track (Track 2) from the album to try to get feedback from other people.

If anyone would care to take a listen and let me know what you think, that'd be awesome and hopefully you can give me some constructive criticism.

It's my own take to black metal / blackgaze genres.

Thanks guys!

If you have any questions feel free to ask me!

First off, I just want to say I won't comment on the Vocals. I don't really listen to the "Black Metal / Blackgaze" genres, so I'm not sure what to make of it lol.

That said, I really like the overall sound and structure to the track. It reminds me of the Death Note OST in a lot of ways, and I have nothing but good things to say about that.

The only thing that stood out to me at all (in a possibly negative sense) was that the track sounded very similar all the way through in terms of structure and / or melody. I would have liked to see, or hear if you will, a little more variation through out the track as it went on. Similar to how Vocals will have a "Verse 1, Hook, Chorus, Verse 2, Hook, Chorus..." kind of structure (or something like that lol), I like it when the Melody follows along those same lines with it's structure to an extent. I'm not saying your song doesn't do this, it just didn't seem all that noticeable when the Melody did change.

By no means am I a music expert, so please don't take anything I have to say too seriously. I was just trying my best to give honest feedback, and hopefully lift your spirits by letting you know it is a well made song. The Vocals aside, it's something I would genuinely consider listening to for certain occasions, and I'm a pretty picky guy lol. Keep at your craft, and I'm sure you can be considered a Master of it one day

Thanks a bunch! That's really great!

I'm glad you liked it. I am working on having more variation in my other songs, my only issue is that I have trouble with making the transitions sound "okay" haha.

Thanks!

The track is actually really good, but it needs more work on the mix, like the kick and the snare is drowning in the mix, and the vocals is still a bit drowning, you maybe need to pan the guitar, snare, and hi hats a bit, and if there's actually a bass guitar in it, boost the low mid a bit, cause I can't hear em and also, the transition from the chorus to the breakdown is a bit rough, u maybe need to adjust the master peak a bit there to make it more balanced (like, if the chorus got -6db peak, the breakdown im gonna say need at least to be in -5 or -4 just to make) The point it, guitar is too dominant, balance em a little bit, boost the low end cause they're drowning, and pan the high ends to make the mix more even, and also master the track to bring more loudness and color to the track. Overall, good song arrangement, just need a bit more work in the technical stuff, keep up the good work!

Yeah, no problem dude! I'm gonna say tho, its just my personal preference on the mix, in mixing, you should've trust your own ear, so, do what you feel like needed to do! And also, a tip for smoothing transitions is using the reversed crash sample, it always works for me even tho i produced more EDM stuff rather than Metal, but just try em out, it'll probably work. Looking forward for your next releases, and hopefully i can remix em someday hehehe

I'm not a huge fan of the rahrahrah metal style with the vocals but this is good enough to give some anger without sounding too much like a Gwar style band.

The break right around 1:50 was really well done, as was the upbeat kick towards the end of the song.

It was well done but I have two observations: It's a bit repetitive for as long a tune as it is. There's a nice change or two in there but it's uniform across the song. Change it up a bit, perhaps. Also, the guitar overtakes the bass and drum sections. I'd like it to have more bass if possible, both via guitar and kit.

Otherwise, well done. I'd score it an 8 out of ten and I'm not too generous with the points.
