I use fire fox as my browser and my system runs on windows 7 but today I decided to download and try google chrome but after it was installed my avast antivirus started to warn me that a threat had been found so I had avast scan my computer but luckily it was nothing serious I was just wondering if anyone else has also had this problem with chrome? although I have tried chrome before but had to uninstall it due to problems I had with it loading web pages properly this is the first time that my antivirus has discovered a threat after chrome was installed

I got the message "Preliminary scans show that Microsoft Security Essentials may have found items that could be dangerous" when I started a scan but ultimately nothing was detected. I get this message every once in a while with no apparent reason or harm. I use Chrome for most everything, but I used Firefox for this site until the last update, which messed things up and I find I am not able to launch the plugin properly to play.

Someone at Arvest community may have reported something in chrome like a plug-in or extension app. So maybe it could be that since people report lots of things for no reason.

Maybe you just downloaded a fake version of Chrome that was actually a virus. Either that, or your antivirus software isn't very good. Maybe your antivirus software is a virus. Now that I think about it, that would be a great scamming technique.
Now that I think about it, that would be a great scamming technique.
It already is. It comes in many forms, such as web sites attempting to look like your anti-virus in an attempt to get you to download a virus, or your anti-virus actually containing a virus (usually malicious code to wreck havoc on your system stability) to let loose on your computer if you stop paying for it.

EDIT: Vizzed doesn't have qoutes? Wow.

EDIT2: No code? I give up.
