I am wondering what are the sizes of your posts normally...

mine now are around 50-100 words

I'd say around 20 to 50 words. It's pretty good for me. The reason I do that is that I don't have a lot to say unless I remember it good enough.

Most of my posts consist of 20-50 words, with the exception of the "Crazy House" forum in which posts do not need to be posted in large paragraphs.

A lot of my posts are usually 100+, but there aren't enough to constitute me selecting that amount in this poll. This thread is a coincidence because I've been thinking about how to classify certain length post based on opinions and explanations and make a thread about it.

4th option...well lately, my post has been about 100+ and posts that are about 15-20 words are in the crazy thread, all other posts have the score around 65- ~346 (I checked the list post by user on my profile).

But if you are counting overall, then it will be 40 words, but lately it is about 90 +, don't ask I just type and I get that high without even knowing.

I have about 6-13 100 word posts since feb 2010, and I think they are rising, but sometimes the post count counted the quotes and HTML codings, so maybe it is not right.

Before I was trusted, the amounts range at about 40-60 words, and those were all quite spammy, but I am picking 4 because of what I said above

Mine is around 20-50 words (this doesn't includes in crazy threads), not very much but it goes well for me.

I picked 50-100.... I just did a simply average... I know I do short posts in the Crazy House and I do longer posts other places.

And over my 5 years here I doubt I average over 100 per post. While it's not a bad thing to strive for I know i have enough 10-20 word posts in the crazy house that I'll never have a higher average than 50-100.

I'd say 100 - 200. Sure I've got a lot of small posts but I have many big posts which evens out my average to be well over 100 words. Some users get a cheap increase by quoting other people, I need to do something about that, people are getting easy Viz by simply quoting someones long post and than just adding a few words.

A lot of my longer posts are usually long due to me talking about features or explaining something to another user. Usually when I make threads, my first post in those is on average above 200 words.

I'm pretty confident to say that if you took the average word count of every post of every user, I'd be easily on the top 3 (for users with at least 100 posts anyway).

I'd say that my average is usually 20-50, again with the exception of most Crazy House posts. I try my best to keep them good sized but without nonsensical ramblings.

10-20 word usually to state some main points and 20-50 if I want to make people better understand it.

I'd say on average I make posts of 50-100 words with the ocassional larger 100-200 word post.
But I also think that sheer words per post does not make one a good poster.
I have seen some large 100+ word posts that say nothing at all and some small 20 word posts that have alot of meaning to them.
So even though I often have a fair few words in my posts, I value quality over quantity.

That was what I was thinking, but in order to fully explain something you need lots of space, but on mostly we need to post something around forty-five or so words to make sure the person you are talking to understands what you are saying.

But yeah I do agree that 100 words don't mean =/= (is that the right sign) good quality posts all the time.

A user can just spam the word "spam" a hundred times on the same spamming massage, it will equal spammy spam, but because it has the word spam 200 times means he is a really good poster, I don't think so.

Even if the user uses 100 different words 100 times doesn't mean he is a good poster as well, it is like those idoits who use long-and-hard-to-pronounce-words just to look smart and cool without knowing the meaning.

My posts are usually 20-50 words long, because I lke to keep my posts at a decent size (Except maybe in the crazy house)

My posts usually fall between 20-50 words. I really don't feel it's necessary for me to make long posts as long as it's straight and to the point.

So far, most people fall between 20-50. That is okay, but I think all of us should try to get 50+ when posting outside of the crazy house, because that is pretty easy to do, considering that it will only take a minute to type 50+ words.
I think that people are doing pretty well with their posting. I am trying to get my average words per post to 50+.

Oh man, back in the day 200+ sometimes, I swear.

But people don't want to read a novel... and I don't want to write one.

So, I'm try going for medium to large, depending. Sometimes, a short post is ok, but it tottaly depends on the situation.

My posts are usually anywhere from 15 to 30 words.
I Haven't bumped into a topic interesting enough to where I can reply with a rough draft yet =P

Well i never really thought about it but I'm sure i don't make my post too long. and if i do its because I'm just trying to stay active etc.

mine are usually 80-200 words, depending on what I'm talking about. I usually don't post that many in this thread though lol. I try to keep em above 100 for the Viz bonus, but now that I have all this viz, that doesn't really matter anymore.
