Soooo my boyfriend just finished Resident Evil 1.

This is a game that had terrified him since he was little and it scared him so badly that every time he tried to play it--even though he was now 28 he couldn't get farther than a few seconds into the first hallway or so before he would have to put the controller down and not play for weeks on end. This reminded me of how I can't play code veronica because of the moth hallway. I have a crippling fear of larvae and in the hallway giant moths leave eggs on your back and when the giant larvae hatch they crawl all over you, bite and poison you--and the blue herb that can cure you of poison is in the hallway with the moths. So you just end up having to go in, get egg'd, leave, they bite--over and over. I got so afraid at the larvae that I literally turned the game off and never played it again--and this was years ago!

This made me curious, what games have you guys put down forever because it scared the pants off of you? I can't be the only one who was super duper scared from a game to the point you had to give it away to your cousin!

AnotherInuFan : Oh man this is a good one. I am going to straight up hands down say Amnesia: The Dark Descent. This game is absolutely terrifying to me. I could not play this without having to take multiple breaks. Ultimately, I put the keyboard and mouse away forever and never touched it again.

I am a little disappointed that I didn't keep going, but it just got released with Machine of Pigs, or something like that, on PS4 in a bundle a while ago.

Scared? Alien Isolation. I don't do horror games at all, so the first time I got killed under the table when you first meet the alien, I noped the heck out of there.

I think Silent Hill The Room spooked me a little bit back in the day, and putted m controller down for a few months. Other than that, Fatal Frame really ruined my childhood back in the day, i don't know why my dad bought that game for me smh.

I've never played horror games, so the only thing I've gotten close to scary was in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, when a gargantuan truck pursued you in the downhills of San Francisco. Back then, when I was like 10 years old, it felt really scary, but it didn't get me to dislike that game, in fact it may be one of my all time favorites. Something similar happened in Sonic Heroes, but to a lesser degree and also it's not in my favorite list.

If I played it thoroughly maybe I'd have become scared of Let It Die, because it started to become quite creepy by the time I left it, I wasn't feeling comfortable with the controls and fighting system, so I probably saved myself a moment that could have haunted my dreams.

There was a moment in an old game called X2: Wolverine's Revenge that I had on PC that had this moment where Wolverine sees this scary-looking bad guy roaming the hallways through some computer monitors. It freaked me out a lot as a kid. In hindsight, a bit ridiculous, but at the time, it was scary enough for me to never play it again, even though I really loved the game.
