Sadness can be overwhelming. Depression can be exhausting. I would know well, because my mind is constantly swirling these emotions quite often. People can get sad (or depressed) over many different things, like getting a divorce, getting robbed, unrequited love, failing in terms of academic achievement, and so forth. It's quite sad. What makes you sad (or depressed)?

Being alone, generally.

Like I can handle failure. I can handle being told of my shortcomings. I can handle being harassed by people. Because even in those instances, I have someone keeping me from being isolated.

But when I'm not being talked to by somebody, I generally feel very alone. And that's one thing I just can't stand. I don't know what to do with myself, so I usually turn to my go-to, flirting with people, even if I'm not particularly interested in them. Because that's been good for getting attention.
