Hey guys I'm back, and I'm here to bring you this Sonic The Hedgehog: Green Hill Zone Guide! So this will imply for the following levels, (Green Hill Zone: Act: 1, Green Hill Zone: Act: 2, and Green Hill Zone: Act: 3). So now that we got that out of the way let's move on to Enemies. There are six different Enemies including, (Moto Bug, Buzz Bomber, Crabmeat, Chopper, Newtron (1), and Newtron (2)), every stage also has Traps such as, (Spikes and Pits). In every stage collecting 100 Rings will reward you with a Extra Life and beating Act: 1-2 with 50 Rings will allow you to go through the Bonus Stage Ring. In the Bonus Stages you will unlock the 2/7 of The Chaos Emeralds and collecting 50 Rings in the Bonus Stages will reward you with a Continue. And back to the Green Hill Zone: Act: 1, 2, and 3, there are five different kinds of Power Ups which would be, (Invincibility Boxes, Ring Boxes, Shield Boxes, Speed Shoes Boxes, and Extra Life Boxes). The reason you can't get a Bonus Stage for Act: 3 is because at the end of Act: 3 you battle the evil Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik in his Egg Mobile Hammer Ball, to defeat him, attack the Mobile part of the Egg Mobile eight time and make sure not to get hit by the Hammer Ball of the Egg Mobile. Congratulations, you just completed Green Hill Zone and are ready to move onto Marble Zone!

I'm sorry, but the official Game Guide rules state that your first guide for a game must be at least 500 words long, and this guide is only around 218 words. I do appreciate the effort though, and I'll probably end up using this to help me in my playthrough. Thank you for making Vizzed a better place for everyone to enjoy.

fireflame4231 :

Lol no, I don't have the power to do that. The most likely result is that one of the local mods will move it to the Game Discussion forum, but they won't close it. I'm not saying that's what will happen, but that's what usually does.

No, I'm going to move it to Game Discussion. Also, don't split guides by levels please, it would be rather unorganized if everyone were to do that.

Please read the Game Guide rules before posting a new guide https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=91309

While it has been made clear this is not a guide, allow me to point out what you're missing besides the word length.

First of all, you're not giving the impression that you've played this game. All you include is a bunch of information that can be found anywhere, and that's not what players want when they're searching for guides, they want advice from someone who has played AND beaten this game.

Let's focus on the information you wanted to include. Listing the enemies by name means literally nothing. How will the player recognize those enemies if we don't know how they are like? Are any of them immune to damage? Do they shoot anything at me? How can Sonic eliminate them?

Power-ups are okay, but where exactly are they located in the different acts? How are they obtained? And most importantly, how do I beat each act? How can I beat Robotnik's machine? Does it have a health bar or something?

A guide should be an answer to all those questions and many more. Remember that you GUIDE the player, and as such you must give them insight about what are they facing. Unless you're aiming at answering a player's questions, you cannot consider what you're writing as a guide.

And well, while you can include images in guides, you can only include screenshots of the game so as to give a better explanation of something: identifying enemies, power-ups, hidden items... Anything else must be omitted because it makes the post big for no reason, and you're not helping the reader that way.
