So, I had hoped to start this project on New Year's, but a lot has gotten in the way of that, early.

But I'm going to launch it in earnest, now.

I'm taking this thread to announce the beginning of Delayed Legacy Productions.

What is Delayed Legacy Productions?

Put simply, it's an old channel that I have re-purposed into being my new channel, for video game streaming and general non-sense. The name itself comes from two things, my desire to have a legacy, and the constant delays all of my goals/ambitions have had in my life. Example - I'm presently in school to become a Physical Therapist, I started this career path fairly late (I'm 24, and just finished my freshman year), so my legacy, as always, is delayed. This is no different.

What will I be doing with Delayed Legacy Productions?

Primarily, I'll be streaming video game content and maybe uploading videos of dogs as well. Mostly the first thing though. I stream through my PS4's share function, rather than a capture card, because this is a hobby, not a career, and I cannot justify expenditures on things as frivolous as capture cards. Additionally, I suffer from social anxiety, and have yet to master the ability to talk to nobody. I presently am lucky if I even get one viewer, ever, on a video, so most of the time, if I'm not streaming with someone else, I must talk to myself, or make stupid commentary about something, usually a joke that falls flat.

What is the goal of Delayed Legacy Productions?

Namely, there is no real goal! If I had to say, my goal is to upload every minute of video game content I play (on PS4) that I possibly can, and stream as often as I can (usually between 6-10 PM PT). I guess another goal for me is to become more comfortable speaking. I'm sure many of you identify with what I said above. I suffer from social anxiety, and in recent years have started to come out of my natural shell. Fighting against the grain of nature is incredibly hard, and as a result of my anxiety, I find myself incredibly awkward when it comes to talking to people. It's worse when I think I'm talking to nobody, like on my current streams. But, I figured, 2017, new year, new(ish) me, so I'm going to continue taking steps to combat my inner nature. And this step is all about putting myself out there, whether people watch or not.

I'd also like to eventually hit 100 subscribers (in a fair way, I detest people who pay for marketing, advertise themselves everywhere - this will be the only place where I will advertise my brand, since this is the birthplace of my resolve for this project), and be able to draw even a small grouping of people once or twice a month. But those are lofty ambitions, ones I'm not crazy about.

So what's the aim of this post?

Well, it's kind of a butterfly effect. Until now, I have only told two or three people about my ability to stream.

By telling all the trusted+ members of Vizzed, who are presumably into gaming, I can get more of either an audience, or constructive help with how to improve my videos, and gain viewers, etc. Essentially, this is serving as the base of my project, and I'm allowing you all to be a part of it.

What will I be streaming?

Honestly, it's pretty much limited to PS4 games. I'd love to stream PS3 stuff, or 3DS stuff, or Switch stuff (when that comes out) in addition to Steam stuff, but the stark reality is, none of those platforms are as convenient as PS4. The closest comparison is on Steam, but it's too much effort for something that's not trying to be too ambitious. The PS4 makes it blindingly simple. I just push the share button, and boom, we have lights, camera, action. I don't need to worry myself with things like specs, watching cpu performance, and all that noise. I just play the game and occasionally talk.

As for the games themselves, presently, I think it's going to be largely Overwatch, although I'll be playing single player games as well, and likely a Let's Play or two, if I can ever coherently say a word.

I'm open to suggestion as to what I'll play, however, on the PS4. Any game I presently don't own cannot be guaranteed as an option (I've had someone ask for Titanfall 2 already, and unless I get that game as a gift, or it drops significantly in price, I'm highly unlikely to get it).

I suck at video games, so why am I doing this, if all it is going to do is showcase how bad I am?

Simple. It's fun. I enjoy sharing my life. Video games are a part of it. I don't care if I suck.

How can you help?

If you are interested in helping, I could always use partners for streaming. For example, in this two hour video, I play with my best friend of like 19 years, and just have fun! If you want to stream with me, you have to be ok with your voice being heard, because otherwise, I'll just awkwardly be talking to you with no response on the stream, which isn't cool! Additionally, it's great if you actually talk! It's very difficult to stream if I'm the only one talking, especially if I have to put words in your mouth in addition to my own.

I could also use people who want to help organize viewings and all that, as it is, I'm managing everything myself, and on a "when I have time" basis. But if there's a period of time that works great for a bunch of people who want to organize a viewing party, then I can try my best to fit your time frame as well. I want to be flexible, but keep in mind, I'm going to school, and I have a job. I will not be monetizing my content on Youtube, nor do I have ambitions to do so.

I also like constructive criticism. Saying I should be a little louder, or that I should try joking more is constructive. Saying I'm annoying, or bad at everything probably isn't. I'm not really doing this to be the best, I'm doing this to combat my social anxiety, and to share a part of my life and being with all of you. As it stands, I have probably a hundred hours of content on Youtube (up until my three most recent videos, none of them have featured any speaking at all by me, however), and I want to make that thousands of hours of content for anyone who may have interest, at any time.

Finally, and probably most importantly, I could use subscribers. Even if you only want to sign up to say you support this endeavor, that's cool, you can watch once, twice, or never, but a simple subscription is infinitely more helpful than you realize, since it signifies to me that you actively want to see me try this streaming thing out in 2017. You don't need to be vocal, or the most loyal viewer. There are a lot of amazing streamers on Youtube, and I am not one of them. So I get not watching me 100%. When I'm not gaming, I'm watching other people game. If you do watch though, drop in the chat, and say hi, I always try to peek over at the chat room when I am streaming, although during 15 minute matches of Overwatch, this is usually limited to when I respawn. I cherish conversation, and if I can even make one person feel noticed, I want to take that step.

You bet I'll support you. I would love to stream with you, but I don't have any equipment to do so. If I tried streaming with Steam, my computer will blow up. I can totally relate to your social anxiety. In my case, instead of speaking its about showing myself. I could have no problem if it was for a good reason and with a good background, not just my room. I'd probably gain viewers if I spin my cam to show my Corvette poster or my Assassin's Creed calendar, but that's out of topic.

Do you have a PS+ account so you can join us playing a game you don't own? That's like the most I could do, and only when I'm home alone so I can play my PS4 at any given time without having to worry about timezone offset. Besides, PS+ offers some free games every month, so you will have monthly sources of videos beyond what you own.

I do have a PS+ account. I assume you are talking about Share Play? I have yet to actually try it out, so I'm not sure whether that would work for me.

The timezone thing might be a bit tough, but again, (especially when I'm off from school or work) I want to be flexible, so I can work with anything

legacyme3 : Well, it's not often that I'm home alone to be available at the same time you mostly are (that 6-10 PM PT frame you mentioned), so you have plenty of chances to test Share Play before I even get a chance to be part of this.

And well, one thing I didn't consider is potential lag, because there's the chance we're not able to play at a relatively decent speed. I definitely need to look at this, but then again I have very few people I can test this out with.

I will support you. I think it is a great idea and a big step. Well, you know I am the same way and for me my Public Speaking class in College made me get out of my comfort zone. Good luck!

I just bought a PS4 and Overwatch, and I think I'm not half bad. So, if you ever want to play with each other, I'll be more than willing to play with you. It'll open up my streaming audience too, so it'd be mutually beneficial. Also, I can learn more about my PS4. 

Also, I just subscribed. But I'm not sure how much I will actually watch if they're longer than a few minutes.

Yeah, I don't expect people to watch two hours of me struggling with new Overwatch characters I've never used before haha.

But I like putting the option out there, because there are some people out there who genuinely like watching people suck so they can feel better about themselves.

I'm not great at Overwatch. I have a good moment every now and then, of course, but it's limited to brief highlights.
