I'm shocked that no one has posted about this movie yet. It's been out for 5 days or so and no thread about it.

As for the movie, I personally loved it. There are a handful of things that were disappointing (like no opening crawl) but trying to make a prequel that ties in so closely to a movie made 40 years ago is tough enough.

I thought the movie overall was well done. After seeing this and the Force Awakens I am more than happy to see Star Wars movies coming out on a regular basis.

I finally saw it last night and I think it was fantastic. I was disappointed that the entire R1 team died, but at least having them all die beats just leaving a few survivors so that saved me from a meltdown lol.

I loved pretty much everything about the movie. I loved Jyn's character progression, I loved the entire war at the end, and I especially loved the very last few scenes with Darth Vader on the ship, which I think had the perfect tone.

zanderlex : yeah, I like that the entire group died in the end. The impression I always had from a New Hope was that the group that got the plans didn't survive getting them to Leia and now we know.

I also liked that the exhaust port is finally explained. Took 40 years to explain it away but I'm glad it is now.
