thing1 : Probably not the best guy to ask though I would seem like it. It is my impression that when you've lived in a country your entire life you typically don't notice what makes it stand out. What I can tell you though, is that it depends entirely on which city you're visiting. There is a huge difference between which part of Sweden you're in. The climate in North Sweden is closer to the polar regions while south Sweden (where I live) it's closer to say the UK. The population is also quite different because of that, a ton of people have immigrated to south Sweden while barely any immigrants at all live in the north. Because of that what there is to see and do differ quite a lot between different cities. So you would have to start with deciding where you want to go.

Nope not this year. I didn't even really think about it until I saw it being brought up here on the forums. They're likely not going to influence what I do anyway so I don't see the point in making any since my outlook may change. I've been focused on the thought of my future for the past few months so I think I need to think a bit more about what's happening in the moment as well.

Not sure, my core concern has mainly been getting a degree (in something I find interesting) and then being able to get a job where I actually get to apply what I've learned. So I guess something where the latter is the case since it rarely seems to be. There are a lot of different areas I could see myself possibly working in so I find it hard to just completely set my sights on one. Economics, Political Science, Mathematics, Programming and Video Game Development in general are all areas that interest me and that I've heavily considered as career paths (to some extent still do),

If I were to be short sighted I'd say something where I get paid for doing nothing or getting paid for just playing video games or something of the sort. The way most people would probably answer the question. However that leaves me with little to actually strive for later in my life. I want a job that I actually get a sense of accomplishment from and at least to some extent feel like I'm doing something that is important. Not having that leads me to think I'd become bored and possibly depressed after a while since it would reinforce bad habits I have when I no longer need to work for my goals.

On a serious note I actually did use to watch him (back when he first was becoming big a few years ago) to the point where I would be considered a fan. I was in my early teens at the time, so I was definitely in that target demographic. I'd say I've grown out of it by now. On a side note, I've noticed his content has changed a ton too. He went from being a traditional let's player to more of a vlogging/comedy centered channel with some occasional videos where a game is involved. He even seems to make fun of himself in the past at points. So comparing the Pewdiepie I watched with Pewdiepie now is almost kind of useless.

My general impression is that a lot of foreigners who learn about the language think it sounds beautiful but when it comes to native speakers such as myself many of us actually dislike how it sounds. I've always preferred English personally, it has a much larger vocabulary which gives you more ways to express yourself, it's part of the reason I'm taking most of my courses (save non English language courses) in English. That is not to say that I hate the language or anything. I think it's interesting that unlike some other languages (French for example) Swedish is constantly changing and being influenced by other languages, especially due to our large immigrant population. Meanwhile in many countries you see specific measures being taken to prevent that from happening. In a way it is also cool to be able to speak a language that is less widely spoken. The fact that it's close enough to Norwegian and Danish to the point where one can at least somewhat understand each other is another bonus (in some ways almost making it 3 languages on 1).

Of course like I said that's probably in large part due to being a native speaker. I would expect the reverse of what I said to be true for many native English speakers in terms of prefering other languages.

Yuna1000 : Yes it does. But I would still be cautious if you're using any other source than talking to a Swede directly. Especially if you're trying to learn how to pronounce it as well because dialects differ a ton within the country.

A user of this : I don't have one, since I rarely get the chance to use shiny Pokemon and typically prefer the normal color scheme because it looks more natural. If there's some Pokemon that I like the shiny design for it would probably be Serperior and Dragalge since I think those are examples of Pokemon where it actually looks fitting to their design and typing. Otherwise I would say Charizard and Rayquaza ironically. I've never been a huge fan of either but I have to admit that the black colour gives them a really good alternate look (though black typically has that effect). I've never been one that's huge on having role models. However I do have one person I consider my political role model and that's Olof Palme. He's a former Swedish prime minister (1969-1976, 1982-1986)a nd was the leader of the social democratic party before being assassinated during his second term (currently the only Swedish prime minister that has been assassinated while in office and his killer still hasn't been determined). His speech on why he is a socialist is a big part of what made me consider myself a socialist in the first place. Which is even more impressive when you consider the fact that he was part of the upper class being very well off himself. He was also a huge inspiration when it came to international relations as well perhaps not suprising considering he was the foreign affairs minister before becoming prime minister. In stead of doing what all other countries did at the time, that is blindly side either with the US or Russia he was never afraid to speak out against either country. For example condemning the US for the hanoi bombings in VIetnam but also being a big critic of Soviet Union communism. Which at the time made Sweden (which is a very small country if you think about it) quite influental in international politics. To the point where he was made a mediator by the UN in the iraq conflict. Until his death he was never afraid to stand up for what he believed in while simultaneously realizing the importance of compromise. I'm not expecting many people here to like him (in the unlikely case that they even know about him) but I think that at least is something to respect. It's too that the social democratic party seems to have long strayed from the vision it had back then. Being a mess today that doesn't even seem capable of running a country a lot of the time.

Another big source of inspiration would be Dag Hammarskjöld. The second UN secretary general. Which was in some ways the opposite of Palme rarely showing his political views. He is by many considered the best secretary general the UN has had and not without reason. He was able to lead the organization during a huge time of crisis. He's famous for never wavering to Soviet pressure for him to resign by saying: "It is very easy to bow to the wish of a big power. It is another matter to resist it. If it is the wish of those nations who see the organization their best protection in the present world, I shall do so again". He hasn't been the same huge influence on my political beliefs as Palme was but he has definitely inspired me.

Idk depends on if having teeth for hair would mean that it would keep growing. If no then teeth for hair. Wearing a hat could get rid of most of the problems.. Having hair for teeth would make eating at all a pain while teeth hair would just be an appearance related issue. A user of this : I don't think I've ever eaten a candy called Swedish fish. That would be a dumb name considering we're in Sweden. Seems like something that's marketed to foreigners. Either way it might exist but if it does I doubt it's a huge thing.

That is a tough one, I don't think I would be able to decide like this just on the spot. There are many different time periods I would like to see. Some that come to mind is the 80s to see what was happening during the cold war, ww2 (assuming it doesn't put my life at risk lol) and if going really far back maybe investigate if the events told in the bible actually happened. There are many other things I would want to do but those are some of the first that came to mind.

Lexatom : Technically yes but not a lot (I would the equivalent of about 100 dollars) which is supposed to be used for school equipment or other living expenses. Since we also pay high taxes (a fair bit higher than the US I believe) you could sort of view it as a return on the tax paid by one's parents. They manage it so typically you won't just get the money yourself to spend on whatever I think it's mostly there to act as an additional incentive to make sure your kids go to school (though you still legally have to at least attend up until grade 9).

Overall probably Football or as you edgy Americans call it, soccer (I don't call it that though because it's a dirty word). I used to sort of follow the sport when I was younger and I still at least tend to keep up with how my home team (Malmö FF) is doing which for your information is the best Swedish football team. This a scientific fact that cannot be argued. I've also played a lot of football video games, they're one of my guilty pleasures.

Favorite sport to just watch would be Hockey due to how fast paced it is and how intense it can get. I specifically like watching the national teams because Sweden has one of the best national teams, though I don't watch them religiously I'm also a Detroit Red Wings fan.

I suppose I do. I don't dislike them and have a few which I generally enjoy having but I've never gone out of my way to buy a plushie for myself and don't think I ever will. I have a Pikachu Plushie (though the tail is missing) and it actually has some backstory to it. My mom got it for me when I was younger from a co worker despite how poor we were at the time knowing I really enjoyed watching the show on TV whenever I got the chance. This was before I had the opportunity to play the games too. Apparently when the show aired I used to pretend I was a Pokemon trainer and was commanding Pikachu like Ash was doing.

The other I have is this huge white bear that if I'm not mistaken my dad won for me at a carnival game way back. I guess technically it qualifies as a stuffed animal? Not to sure how it is about stuffed animals vs plushies. He's passed away now and we were never on good terms but it's the one thing that I've had for as long as I can remember. Here's a picture:

Lexatom : The fact that it's probably the best country to live in for someone with my political opinions since it's very leftist and being a socialist is socially acceptable in most parts of the country.

If I could move anywhere (assuming I'd actually decide I want to move out of Sweden in the first place) it would probably be between the US and Japan. With the US I think I could fit in if I moved to a leftist state (looking past my physical appearance and people thinking I'm a muslim lol). I know English well and know a fair bit about the country through talking to people on the internet. There's also a lot of perks to living there in terms of getting video games first and US exclusive services. Then again with Trump being president now maybe I wouldn't like it that much...

Japan because I've always been interested in the culture, am trying to learn Japanese. I actually do intend on moving there for a while to study at some point in the future though getting to that point is easier said than done.
