The second chapter guys! Wooo! *confetti*

Although the house was entirely devoid of life, it still gave the two reploids comforting feelings. They went to the right, and then Zero jumped immediately on the comfortable chair. X decided to just sit on one of the wooden chairs near a table instead.

"Ha! This time, I get the comfortable chair!" Zero was still awkwardly laying on it when he said that.

"Yea, until I steal it from you!" retorted X. Seeing as the chair made Zero feel even better, X decided to let him have it. For now.

"And since this chair sucks, I'm just gonna explore this house a bit more. Hey, if you like this place enough, are you gonna stay here instead? It's probably a nice change of pace from you know whatever happened today."

X waited for Zero's answer while he explored what seemed to be a kitchen. There seemed to be a chocolate bar past it's expiration date in the freezer for some reason, and the kitchen had a very faint smell of pie. X didn't know what kind, but he could have sworn he smelled some cinnamon and... butterscotch. It reminded him of when he decided to try butterscotch candy. It tasted rather good, or at least a lot better than cinnamon...

Zero was thinking about X's answer while he was messing around in the kitchen. Staying would be nice, sure, but this house didn't seem that big. And the ruins were rather small as well. If this was how big the underground was, he didn't know how he's manage to stay sane. Or, at least, manage not to be bored all the time.

"X, while this place is nice, I'd rather be in an area that's not as small. I mean, I'm not claustrophobic or anything but this is a rather abrupt change of pace from the entire globe."

X responded after he was done looking through the refrigerator for anything edible. Unfortunately, everything was spoiled or rotten, even the cinnamon that was put in the fridge for some reason. There was also butterscotch as well, which proved his suspicions about the pie smell. One odd thing he noticed was that there were snails in here. It kind of repulsed him.

"Fair enough. I don't think there's anything other than the ruins down here, however. And have you found any edible food yet?"

"No, and reploids don't need to eat anyways, stupid."

"I know, but human food tastes a lot better than transmission oil, you have to admit. Speaking of which, is there any here?"

"Probably not. Besides, we're solar powered- we'll be fine. Also, there are a lot of books here."

X decided to check the books with Zero, and found several books that caught his eye- "72 Uses for Snails", "How to Cook Snails 101", "Snails for Dummies", and several other snail-related books. X was even more repulsed.

"Who eats snails?" X asked

"Whoever lived in this house, duh." retorted Zero.

"Yea well I know that, but why?" questioned X.

"Who knows, anyways, maybe there's something to the right of this house. Let's check it out."

The two reploids ignored the stair leading down to who knows where at the moment and went to the right. They found three doors in a hallway. They decided to check the first door first.

"This... is a pretty nice room." reflected Zero.

And indeed it was. It looked just like how you would imagine a bedroom to look like, with a bed, a chest of toys, a closet, shelves, and a lamp. Zero sat on the bed, since it was a little too small for him to lay down on.

X decided to check the next room, and this room had a larger bed, book shelves (with more books about snails), a table with what seemed to be a diary on top of it, and a drawer with socks in it. X decided to read the highlighted passage of the diary, since he doubted that the person who had the diary was here anymore.

"Hey Zero, this random diary I think I found in the next room has this... uh... pun in it. It's a skeleton pun, so uh maybe a skeleton was living here?"

Through the wall, X heard Zero's uninterested reply.

"What skeleton have you met that eats snails?"

X read more of the diary, and saw that it consisted of more bad jokes. Sighing, he decided to lay down in the bed. Upon lifting the covers he saw that the inside was covered in white fur.

"Zero, what animal do you know that has white fur?"

Again, there came an uninterested, slightly irritated reply.

"What, do you want me to list off like 100 animals? If anything whoever lived here is either another human since I've heard they like escargot, or an animal that would eat anything."

X reflected on that a bit, and then responded.

"Maybe it's a goat!"

Zero had enough, and came out of the room. It's not that X's guesses were stupid or anything, but he wasn't in the mood to play guessing games. He skipped the second room, where X was staying, and opened the third room. Or tried to, anyways.

"This door won't open!"

Curious, X stepped out of the room and went to meet Zero. He saw Zero desperately try to open a door, with a sign that said "Closed for renovations".

"Uh, the door has a sign on it and I think it's probably locked."

Zero stopped trying to open the door, and just stood there, looking kind of sad. X lead him to the second room. When they were both tucked under the covers (and rather squished), Zero spoke.

"X, I think we should probably leave soon. This house is rather small and I'd doubt that I'd be happy staying here. Maybe the stairs leading down has a way out."

"I'll miss being here"

"But you've only been here for less than a day"

X looked in Zero's eyes with a longing look. "I know, but I really do miss it being all peaceful. I never really got that on the surface."

Zero responded softly. "The underground looks pretty empty, so I'm sure no matter where we move, it's gonna stay peaceful. Don't worry X, I just want to be somewhere where it's more open, not where it's not peaceful. I fought for peace just as hard as you did, so I understand."

Then they both slept after a long day.

"I'm gonna go after X and Zero!"

"No, stay here, it's too dangerous for you to go off alone."

"No it's not! Besides, why aren't you guys going after them?"

"Because we're not above ground anymore. And frankly I don't care"

"How could you say that! They risked their lives for us! I'm going and finding them, you jerk!"

Then the smaller reploid ran into the ruins, with the bigger one sighing with annoyance.

Pretty good chapter yet again, ZT! I liked this one a lot, I can't wait to see what the next chapter has in store. :3
