"Hey! Why don't we charge people to give them free stuff?"

That's the logic behind The PS Vita and their memory cards.

I can go onto eBay and spend $10 or less on a 32 GB micro SD card. I pop it into my adapter, plug it into my 2DS and I can download tons of full games.
What if I want to do that with my Vita? NOPE!!!! I download FREE DLC for a cartridge game and just the DLC alone takes up roughly 10% of my $40 memory card.

You want to rent a movie from the PS store? It's only like $4-5 right? Well you're going to waste $5 in storage space right there!

The Vita memory card is the worst gaming thing ever invented. The cheapest you can find one for us roughly $15 for a 4 GB card. 4 GB is nothing for the Vita, just the DEMOS for some of the NBA games take up a whole GB or more.

I just recently bought a game for the Vita that I wanted to play all year. I bought it within two days of it coming out so it came with a few free downloads. I put the game in and when I go to put the codes in, it says I need to update the game for 600 MB. Once I do that, the codes that I actually got will be even more. Plus, another DLC was released with the game that's also free and without it, the game is playable but somewhat uncomfortable, and takes up another 600 MB.

Its a terrible marketing ploy though, im 100% sure that many DLC is free ONLY because they crank up the memory card price, and eventually you'll be paying more for the space to hold free stuff than you pay for the games.

It sucks and needs to be fixed, not just the prices, but the entire connection between the memory card and what can be put on them.

Just wanted to say...the title man. PS Vita memory sticks don't exist. That was PSP.
But yeah I agree that the memory card prices are insane. To me it was more than worth it to drop $80+ on a 64GB card, but that's me. It should have been much cheaper than it was, but for whatever reason they went proprietary (I know it was due to piracy, but look at how that's worked in the past for other companies... Hint: it hasn't). Proprietary is a death sentence. Still they did it and I knew it before I bought the Vita. It's worth it for what it offers me so I've no real complaints, though I wish they would have done it differently.

As for DLC and all this solely to force more memory card purchases? Nah, they offered almost no first party support so the DLC and such you're getting for free is probably for third party games which means it's nothing to do with Sony and their profit on memory cards.

Also sorry about failing to get you that card. :/ Mind if we set the date for that to...say...a week or two after Christmas? I promised it way back and I still want to be true to my word.
