I don't mean to be a prick or anything but I'm going to close this probably soon. The reason is because the Live Chat Box I've been working on (on and off) should be available soon, probably this upcoming week, and I'd rather people use that instead of the IRC.

that's your choice.... but the people who use IRC and going to be certain group of people.... they won't be more than 10 people or so.... not likely at least. It's not the same as the site chat.... we talk even when we're not on the board.

True but I just don't want the IRC to take away from activity that could be used for posting on the board. Anything that could potentially reduce posting and activity is not a good idea. I'll put more thought into this though.

Well the Live Chat would be located on Vizzed Board itself, the IRC is external and I have no control over it. Plus the live chat wouldn't be something that people would have big conversations on, it'd be just short ones similar to the shout box but in real time.

Only problem with IRC is its not made for Vizzed. David wants to have his own exclusive things made for this board I don't think he wants to use remote programs like IRC which can cause problems with people not affiliated with this board. Its better if we use davids chat cause we can have full control of it unlike IRC.

I've put just far to many hours into the Vizzed Chat for it to be replaced by the IRC though. One of the main reason I've put so many straight hours into the Chat I've been working on is so that we wouldn't have a need for something like this.

What does it hurt if we just use what I made instead? With a few more modifications and it can be just like the IRC.

One of the reasons why I even started to work on the chat box in the first place is to eliminate the need for an external chat. Plus a modified version of it would be used for casual chatting, one that is bigger and shows more chats. Keep in mind that I'm currently working on a few more modifications for it that will make it even better than it currently is.

I think that the chat box is a great idea, but I also don't think that it should negate the external chat. The external one can be used even when the people aren't on Vizzed.
